General Comments, scholarship chances, status info, going to NEU…?: NEU is definitely my first choice. I’m in the honors program with a $17K/yr scholarship. Hoping to qualify for a Trustee Scholarship. I was deferred last week, but evidently it was a mixup. An admissions counselor called me Friday to say my online status was wrong and told me everything. Just got my letter online today.

Question: I’m interested in the Music Industry Concentration. Is it difficult (or possible) to switch from CBA to study the music industry? I didn’t know about that option until I had submitted my app.

General Comments, scholarship chances, status info, going to NEU…?: I got into Honors and got the Deans Scholarship of 17,000. I am waiting to hear about getting full tuition through National Merit Finalist Scholarship at NEU. If I got that then I will probably be going there. I am very excited to be possibly attending Northeastern.

Question: I got into Northeastern for Journalism and also received a $15,000/year scholarship. I’m a NMSF, but the letter didn’t say anything about the full-ride scholarship that all finalists get. I also didn’t get into the honors program… is there a way I could still get in? I’ll still probably go there even if I don’t get into honors, but I was just wondering if there is still a chance?

From what I understand the full ride scholarship notices are sent out in April. We got our Honors College notification with our acceptance and scholarship letters.

Call them and ask them about the Honors College if you didn’t get notification and want to be sure.

It is certainly not all finalists who get a full-tuition. And you won’t even know about finalist for sure until the beginning of February through NMSC.

I spoke to the admissions rep last September and she said that all NMF receive free full-tuition and they will compete for the Trustee Scholarship which is full-ride, tuition + room/board.

However, Trustee Scholarship is for the top 1 to 2% of students and honors is for the top 10%. So if you are not in the honors program now, I am not sure what will the chances be for you to receive full-ride.

General Comments, scholarship chances, status info, going to NEU…?: I visited NEU and they took my name, so maybe they saw that I was interested. I got $12,000 first semester, $6,000 every semester after that I’m not on coop. I am most likely attending, but still waiting to hear back on other schools.

I was just curious, for people who got accepted EA and are planning on attending the EA welcome day, is this something you should be/not be bringing a parent for?
