Reflection

[ul][]Strengths: Scores, course rigor, essays, probably recs, sent supplemental stuff that emphasized my ecs, devout Catholicism emphasized in application and probably made adcoms think I was a good fit
[] Weaknesses: Definitely grades. I had a C+ freshmen year, and my transcript probably had just as many Bs as it did As.
[*] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Considering that I was deferred from Duke and ND is conservative when it comes to accepting kids EA, I was expecting a deferral. I think I was accepted for the strengths listed. Future applicants: recognize that you need to take CCers’ words with a grain of salt. When I made chance threads, CCers thought I was screwed due to my GPA (89.82). They also thought my ECs weren’t focused enough. ND looked at my GPA in the context of the competitive high school I go to. Also, the lack of “focus” in my ECs was a non-issue because it’s okay to have a wide variety of interests. I did every one of those ECs with passion, and they saw that I had a lot to bring to the table at ND. Congrats to all those who were accepted! If you were deferred, ND takes about 1/4 of deferred applicants. Those aren’t bad odds. If you were rejected, it won’t even matter because you will be at an incredible school. You guys are all amazing![/ul].
