Guidance Rec: No idea…probably average.

Hope I get in…
Wish you all good luck :D

Is anyone else applying for a history major?

CPU…for the record, you are supposed to withdraw all other applications once admitted to your ED school.

I’m trying to go for studio art…

which majors have the highest/lowest acceptance rates

I know geeps.

Once you withdraw your other apps, that is it. Northeastern will not admit 1 more person now that someone has gotten in elsewhere ED and withdrew their NEU app. They guesstimate how many ED applicants they have, and over admit. The decisions are made already.

Thats why colleges admit more students than the size of the freshman class. They know some will go elsewhere. Just like EA, they know some applied ED.

the status site is up for me but the status is gone…now there is a message saying

“Your application is complete and no further documents are required by the Admissions Office at this time.”

i wonder what this means

Now I can log on to the site again but it just says “Your application is complete and no further documents are needed at this time”. So they are getting closer to releasing them.

Someone else got that message, but I didn’t. Weird how there’s more than one. I had two different ones.

I have the identical message as well. I’m so excited yet nervous, haha. About two hours & half to three hours left. :)

@cpu - I had the same messages as you did before, now its changed. I’ve been checking for my D, she is at school. We don’t have our hopes up though, we are at least hoping for a deferred decision at this point. Her stats aren’t as high as most of yours are, 1820 SATS, 3.6 gpa, hoping to study psychology.

West is this your daughter’s first choice? I can’t remember if you said it before, my apologies. Your daughter’s stats are still good.

It’s one of her top three out of the 10 she’s applying to. She goes to a very competitive public high school in the northeast and is very well known and respected by NEU. Last year there were 40 kids that applied and 30 were admitted out of a class of 300. That’s pretty high acceptance rate from one school. This is the hope we are hanging on to lol.

I’ve been checking for my daughter too. The message changed again. Before it said you couldn’t check the status. Now it says that process is complete and they have everything (or something to that effect in one short sentence).

They are definitely working on something!

GPA: 89.2
SATs: 2120
SAT II: 740 Literature

I’m applying with my focus on English, Theatre and Education. Fingers crossed! Good luck everyone!

When I tried checking the status again I was hoping to get that phone number that was posted before. I was going to call and see if they could give me information as to when it would be online, but now that new message is up instead.

@ mom23 - so nervewhracking isn’t it? I think I’m more anxious than my daughter is, maybe because she really doesn’t think she’s getting in and has kind of accepted that already? Not sure.

Westie-- NEU is very popular among my school as well (well, I guess my regional area? I am in new England too). Northeastern is a good option for me, but it would of course have to be financially plausible. I have an almost free ride at u Pitt which is a favorite for me, but they do not have a co-op like northeastern does.

For us moms and dads, this is the culmination of our parenting. I think that is why we are more anxious than our kids. We also have a different perspective than they do. No matter their aspirations, for them it is their next step in life, like transitioning from middle school to high school. The next few days are going to make me turn gray!

Westie her stats are fine. good luck all!
