Try not to worry! You are more than a GPA! The school is going to look at everything you have submitted, including letters of recs, essays, difficulty of classes you have taken at your HS.

What other schools did everyone apply to? Is NEU your first choice?

I applied to over 10 schools.

just to name a few.

Will Apply:

Applied:

WIll Apply:

I’m torn between NEU and Tufts.

It’s definitely coming down to who rejects me or gives me more money. Lol.

NEU Honors Program would be a deal maker though.

I’m applying to:
NEU - submitted
UMASS Amherst - submitted
Tufts
Johns Hopkins
Stanford
Harvard

Good luck in the college hunt everyone.

Does anyone else’s application status check say they haven’t submitted a recommendation letter? That was the first thing I submitted and it was even confirmed over the phone in October they have it, but it is still listed as a required document on the status check. So I’m worried that for some reason it has been misplaced and now they are unable to review my application.

@eric2dea - How many letters of recommendation’s did you send in? It says on their website for required material, gc recommendation and teachers recommendation so I am guessing they need three? My D’s school sends out 3 to all schools. So if you only sent in one that is why it says there is still one missing.

Good luck to everyone!

Here’s where I applied to other than Northeastern:

Penn State(accepted)
Syracuse
Boston University
Boston College
UConn-EA
Binghamton-EA
Geneseo
Drexel(accepted)
UMass-EA

Northeastern only requires one guidance recommendation and one teacher recommendation.

You may send up to two teacher recommendations, however.

This is plainly stated on the CommonApp website under school forms for the school you are applying to.

I think if you only sent one recommendation, they might wonder why. Unless you are absolutely stellar on everything, I would get two recommendations.

Northeastern is my number one choice at this point, although pitt and gettysburg aren’t far behind…

I also applied to…

Boston College
Boston University
Drexel University
Franklin and Marshall
Gettysburg
Maryland
Penn State (accepted)
Pitt (accepted)

I was just reiterating what the CommonApp said how NU only requires one.

Also, sometimes getting more recommendations isn’t a good thing. A lot of times, colleges will view high numbers of recommendations as you trying to make up for something that you may be lacking.

Two is a good idea, but I don’t recommend more than that.

Again, just reiterating information I have been given.

Did you guys send first marking period grades??

I believe they were sent by my school - I think they asked for them as soon as they were available.

@skipflipdp

I don’t think anyone sent them. You’re not supposed to, because your counselors have to send your mid reports to all of your colleges either way.

Yeah Ea candidates don’t send the first quarter grades. They just have to send an updted transcript at the time of applying

I sent in mine about 2 weeks ago.

Updated grades can mean first quarter. My GC sent the “optional report” from commonapp which included my 1st quarter grades. 2 weeks ago.
