Too bad I can’t afford it anyway :(

Are NMF automatically in the University Scholars Program? What’s the difference between the honors program and the scholars program?

The University Scholars program is a separate program from honors. All Scholars are in honors however. NMF is a different thing though, but both come with full tuition scholarships.
I’m so clueless about these programs. lol
Do you mind briefly describing the benefits of the two programs?

Sure! The Honors program is great. Honors students get to live in the newest dorm on campus (International Village). There are special honors classes that are more rigorous and usually smaller than the regular sections. All honors students must take six honors classes to graduate with honors. There are also honors only Dialogue of Civilization programs (I think they go to Italy) which are summer sessions led by a faculty member in a foreign country.

The University Scholars program is brand new. This year is the first year so students who are getting accepted today will be in the second class of Scholars at the University. Scholars get all the benefits of the honors program as well as getting to work one on one with the scholarship adviser as well as faculty mentors who are matched to students based on similar areas of interest. There are many Scholars only events that we do as a group - academic events such as dinner/discussions with different faculty members and fun events such as a Celtics game. Since the program is so small (there are only 42 students this year), we are all very close. Also, it is a full tuition scholarship program!
