(official?) EA THREAD!

Pebbles- I wrote essay prompt A. I'm too disorganized to coordinate :-).

Bah, don't try and guess your chances based on test scores. They're just another indication- for example, I'm just a good test taker- the rest of my application makes my admission into MIT pretty sketchy.

hm I guess I should post...
1530, 800, 800, 740, yes, I have long hair (male I am), longer than my girlfriend's (very jealous she is), about to the small of my back... maybe 8/18 double major also...

wow you all seem to have pretty insane scores... but I'd like to cite an entry on matt mcgann's blog (err its somewhere around here) saying how little they matter! yes yes this is just a pathetic attempt at boosting my ego(and sadly not my scores)..

Anyway I figure you all have a great chance seeing as you care enough to talk about in on a web board! I know my last summer spent at MIT was great, and now seeing all you that seem to want to go there as much as me just seems to touch my heart (not in the overly feely way though), but is also a bit of intimidating! Oh well, Good luck everyone!

Perhaps we'll be seeing each around september next year :-)

Oh and cause I just ** LOVE ** to conform...
1510, 790,760,760, an authentication method for ubiquitious computing systems, (it involves doodling!)

Holy crap...

It was reported today that we received 2,822 early action applications this year, just about the same as last year. It was also reported that we plan to take fewer students this year during the early action round than we did last year. In 2003 we admitted 438 students during EA; this year, I anticipate it will be fewer than 400. Last year, though, we admitted more than 300 students we had deferred from EA; I suspect the numbers will be somewhat similar this year (we don't set a target on this number).

:-/

:(:(

I hope they save 14 of those <400 spots for us.

i second that

Yeah, anyone who posts regularly on the MIT board should get in. :p

-posts-

:P

increases post count on this board

Yeah, we seriously need to post more on this board. Out of the CC Top 20 Universities, U of Michigan, Georgetown, and Stanford (understandbly) are all beating us. Everyone knows that MIT is infinitely cooler than those 19 other schools.

MIT board is relatively inactive this year compared to other years. Normally, I would say this is GREAT sign that less people are interested in applying early action and therefore our chances are better, but apparently they've received the same number of applications.... but are taking less freshmen this year...

so... yea.

if i counted right thats 19 of us? so statistically about 4 or 5 of us should get in...but hey im hoping as CC'ers we have slightly better odds ;)

Let's make a pool. Everybody gets two guesses, and if you guess both correctly you get... um... our hearty congratulations and our deepest admiration? Or something.

btw frankenchris, did you go to RSI or do westinghouse or both? I heard about something like using a doodle for a password of sorts from a friend of mine who went to RSI (and did westinhouse) hm.....
