^^ This has got to be a mistake. Did you call them to find out why you were rejected? ^^

no, I figured it wouldn’t be worth it, as Iowa is my first choice anyway. I was a little surprised at first, though.

I wish there were more current responses to this thread! But even 2 years later…I am astounded that gagalupe didn’t get in to Chapman with those stats. Wow!

SJR: you are right. Those are amazing stats --scary! But how strange that she applied 12/4 and didn’t hear until 4-3, so late! Maybe things were not all in order in her file or some such.

I think I’ll be posting my stats in this thread when I found out what happens to me!

As to gaglupe’s rejection, I’m going to assume it’s because she’s overqualified. A lot of univerisities will do that, because it takes up space in their application pool, and they’ll assume that they’re not ranked high on the applicant’s college choices (e.g. applying to Ivy’s as well).

Still no word from Chapman at our house! Mail must be s-l-o-w this week.

Hi Anonymous and SJR:
I do not believe chapman rejects because of high stats. Quite the contrary, they work actively to recruit those kids with hefty merit scholarships. Lots of kids with even higher stats have been accepted on past threads. DS got 2300 on his SAT so I certainly hope that isn’t their practice. Have seen no evidence of that.
That said, let’s STOP posting on this two year-old thread (it’s for the class of 2014!) and go back to the current acceptance thread, or somebody start an Official Acceptance thread for the class of 2016!
