I’m still waiting in IL. I’ve been sitting by the mail mailbox for the past 2 days…the wait is killing me!
Got Accepted last week in NJ. Got both emails and invitation to basketball game. Unforunately no merit scholarship. Can’t understand that, 3.7 uw gpa, Honor and AP classes since freshman year. Two varsity sports, lots of EC’s / volunteering, catholic HS. I guess Loyola is off the list when other colleges (6) are offering 15k or more in merit scholarship so far. Its a shame because Loyola was in my top 2 or 3. Waiting to hear from a couple more. Good luck to those that are waiting…
momof2ct we received letter today! FINALLY. Accepted - 18K per year. He’s thrilled. Definately in his top two. Waiting to hear from other school! Going to be a hard decision for him if he gets accepted to both! Hopefully yours will come today too!
momtoo3…congrats on the acceptance AND $$!!Our mail comes in about an hour…hoping the envelope is in it!
We got the “official” email last night inviting my son to join the facebook group,so at least we know that he really was accepted and didnt get a “mistake” email telling us the envelope was on its way.
Did everyone who got accepted get the facebook email?
Yes, we got the Facebook email yesterday! Good luck !

Anyone else still not hear back yet? Btw I’m from Illinois
notonnuksoil - congratulations! Great news! He was waiting on Bentley, which thankfully was a yes, but unfortunately no money! boo. We knew Bentley doesn’t give out a lot of money (oldest daughter is a graduate!) For his major, finance, he’s probably going to go to Bentley - just better ranked - had a positive experience with our daughter - everyone got a job before graduation and supporting themselves - it’s just a lot of money! As for Marist - we have a daughter there as well. A junior so if you need any information I’d be happy to share what I know! Again, congrats!
momtoo3 - Marist was a deferral, which was upsetting. I guess that makes her mind up for her! Not quite sure I understand that as I thought Loyola was a harder school to get into. Also deferred from Bentley!
@Notonuksoil I actually got Accepted to Loyola with the same scholarship, and deferred from Marist. I was talking to students from my school, and it seems like if you did not show enough interest, they did not want accept you. I did not put a lot of effort into my Why Marist essay, or even visit campus, but they may have been only my experience with them.
Notonuksoil - it is so disappointing for them with a deferral! I do know Marist pulls a lot from their deferred list. If you show interest, call admissions counselor - write letter it all helps. In MY opinion I would have preferred her to go somewhere other than Marist. It’s in Poughkeepsie which is shady - the housing is a nightmare (not guaranteed) and us a huge party school with taxis lined up “Marist approved” to get them safely to the bars! At the time of looking on the outside it’s gorgeous but being there 2.5 years even she doesn’t like it, but we are sticking it out because her credits (fashion) don’t transfer! Now if that deferral from bentley becomes a positive I can tell you I would 110% tell you to go there! Worth every single penny. Good luck !
Wow, that is surprising about Marist. Loyola is more rigorous academically, and is ranked #3 Regional Universities in the North by USNews while Marist is ranked #11. i guess you just never know!
Accepted Loyola Early Action - no Merit Scholarship…Accepted Marist Early Action with Merit Scholarship. Visited both schools, met with admissions staff from both schools at my high school, solid SAT’s and GPA, etc. You are right, I guess you just don’t know. Marist does have a much lower acceptance percentage. Loyola moved way down on my list and Marist moved up to top 1 or 2.
Has anyone recieved any financial aid information?
@nj1818 not yet
Loyola mails their Early Action Financial Aid by 3/15. Looking back at the post from last year, most were received about that time.
