Its times like these i wanna cryogenically freeze myself and then have someone thaw me out on the morning of December 15th. Or maybe hibernation. I could use the sleep.

"does the recent addition of “Rice Parking Registration” link on esther mean anything? lol "

Which page of Esther, and where on the page did this link appear?
Is the link active?

so does anyone think they will release decisions on the 12th or 13th (weekend)? this waiting is killing me.

I think so. They’ve released decisions on the weekend before, and it would seem that they’d release the decisions online the same day they mail out the letters.

@RiceFan…The “Rice Parking Registration” link shows up on the Main Menu above the “Undergraduate Admissions”. it directs me to another welcome page but a pop up comes up saying “This page is not enabled for current user role(s).” mine showed up a few days ago but someone else’s has been there for a while so it probably doesn’t mean anything lol. it is probably just something that appears as an automated processing thing that mean nothing about admission decisions. i wouldn’t worry if you dont have it yet. everyone will probably get it at some point soon i’m guessing. it’s kind of a ***** move to post it there though; i mean, come december 15th i’ll have Application: Denied, oh, and here is the parking registration link! lol that would suck.

GoingForAReach

The only links I see on that page are located in the upper right hand corner as follows:

ACCESSIBILITY | SITE MAP | HELP | EXIT

Is the parking link adjacent to these? or Elsewhere?

@RiceFan it’s abouve the “undergraduate admissions” link (the one that you click to see status and requirements and stuff). that’s the important one in the middle!!! ejfakfelsa it’s okay if you don’t have parkign reg. it means noothingggg lol

Tick, Tick, Tick…
Our son has applied ED to Rice and I’m checking Esther daily.
The day after we sent in the application we got an email saying we had not paid the fee. I immediately sent them their payment confirmation email and asked them to update their records. I agree with prior posters that the admissions staff is very friendly and helpful, just a bit overwhelmed early on I guess.
We were happy to see his November SATs got posted to Esther immediately, especially since his scores improved by 100 over his last set.
Since the RD deadline for California state schools was November 30th, we applied to UC Berkeley, UC San Diego, and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo just in case…
Also started the process with Georgia Tech and a few other Common App schools, but Rice is far and away our first choice, hence the ED.
Oh well, back to waiting…
Tick, Tick, Tick…

11ish more days…

I’m pretty sure a majority of us will receive the decision during the weekend of the 12th and 13th so…about 9ish days left!

@AVHSDad: That’s great that your son has already submitted to quite a number of schools! I am nowhere near finished completing the rest of my apps and I know this is really bad…but to be honest, I’m really just waiting for my Rice decision! Oh and by the way, that is exactly how I feel – “Tick, tick, tick…” haha

im waiting to prove that stupid parking registration thing wrong :O

Dixie: We’ve split up the process so it’s not too hard. My wife keeps track of the deadlines and sets up the interviews and visits, I fill out the generic stuff in the applications, and our son writes the essays and short answers. It sure would be nice to be done with it all December 15th!

^ I wish my parents helped me out haha

omg my parents want me to do everything, even FAFSA. It pains to have asian parents.

ouch, im thankful my parents at least agreed to fill out FASFA.

I actually kind of like doing the apps on my own. I mean I’m glad they did the financial stuff, because I honestly don’t know I would get through it. But as far as looking at Email and Esther and everything, I wouldn’t want my parents doing that for me. I like the independence.

10 days until the 15th…7-9 days until some kind of notification (?)

wow AVHSDad - that’s awesome! For me, my mom fills out the financial information and I complete the rest which isn’t too bad either

…Is anyone else losing sanity over all this waiting?

omg 8sih days…ugh i cant take it!!
im going to be refreshing the page every hour come the 14th/13th ha

how/why/when do you find out earlier than december 15th?
