Official ED Class of 2013 Thread

couldn't you get an over-the-phone interview?

and for the people who were talking about tufts as a target, etc. how are you guys judging whether or not those schools would be reaches or targets?

clep: everyone here asks me if brown is a good school too, while i am overly obsessed with it. i totally understand...

Haha...yeah, it seems to be a common problem. I was talking with an alumnus of another Ivy L. school and he was trying to persuade me to apply ED there with: "If you go to Brown, you'll find it hard to get a job back here because most people don't know it." Hmm.

well if they don't know about Brown, you shouldn't be working there! haha.

Usually I'll look at the average SAT/ACT scores of a school to determine if it might be a reach/target/safety. But the top schools are always reaches for everyone (I read this somewhere -- you never know who'll get in because even people with awesome stats sometimes don't get in) I can't really call Tufts a target. I was only saying numbers-wise it could be considered as such. But I still can't call it a target.

jezz09: My college counselor makes me label things as target/safety/reach according to SAT scores. However, like asfh09 said, we can't really consider Tufts a "target" because it's still highly selective and obviously test scores are by no means enough to get us in anywhere. In the end I think the t/s/r system is kind of pointless, seeing as admission decisions tend to be so unpredictable.

Early apps fairly stable, falling about 4.5 percent - Campus News

^Interesting article, and thanks for posting funployee.

I half expected that though...with the economy and all nowadays. The thing is, RD is going to be crazzzy, so it won't be good for those that get deferred. :/

AHHH!!! 2,343 applicants.

and I'm one of them. T_T

so are we, though. that must be at least a dozen for solidarity /competitionbutwe'llkindaglossoverthat !!!!!

:D

OMG About 3 weeks til decisions are out!!!!

anyone seen the movie The Number 23?

the day we find out is 12/11

12 + 11 = 23....lol

Dude, what does bicyclekick mean? I've always imagined it to be one of the abrasive moves my comrades make when a car cuts them off. But then again that's usually a punch.

haha. you realize you posted that on this page which is the 23rd page. i love the number 23.

i was born on the 23rd of december...

wow...i completely didn't realize that this was the 23rd page lol

anyway i had my ED interview today and i think it went really well :)

HMM! my birthday is the 23rd of november... curious. my interview was pretty blah. and not that long. but i showed that i knew and wanted to go to brown, so i'm not THAT stressed that we didn't click amazingly...

I have my interview tomorrow. The email he sent me was a little formal, not very personal, but we're meeting at Caribou Coffee. Did anyone else's interviewer seem formal in text, but more relaxed in person. I'm just trying to anticipate.

I love my interview!

I believe every interviewer tries his best to find good qualities from the applicant. They wish every qualified applicant can go to his dream school. So just take it easy and be yourself. Everything is gonna be fine.

I am a recruited athlete for Brown but I am still so very nervous about the upcoming decision date. The group here seems amazing. I turned down a full ride to Stanford (and guaranteed admission through athletics) to commit myself to Brown (not guaranteed admission haha) But Brown is so worth it. I love it. I really hope that all of us can be peers together at Brown next year!
