Are you sure we'd get a reponse early if we apply really early? that'd be sweeeet!!!

awesome! i'm applying ed to plme, non-binding for regular brown however

Smeagz, wait, how is that possible?

ME TOO!!!!!!!!!!!
I gave the teachers & counselor my rec forms.
I have the essays written; awaiting counselor's go-ahead.
Sent my scores and the moolah too.

Chose Brown ED over Yale SCEA. I'm positive it's the right choice.

i sent in everything, the only thing that's left are my ACT scores, but i'm taking those on Oct. 25, so they won't be sent to Brown until the end of November....

i'm really excited for the interview though!
and best of luck to everyone!

Stephkry,
You already got an interview?!

Just submitted the supplement!!

Now I just need to finish my common app essay and I'm good. Except for the parts with my teachers and counselors haha.

Random question: If you are deffered then accepted regular decision are you still bound to the school?

^ No, i'm pretty sure you're not.

Does anyone know the percent of acceptances for thos who initially get deffered?

I actually just got done with the tour and info sesh here...I LOVE IT!
I'm applying ED cause it's such a great school, but mostly cause of the attitude towards education...they just give you so much liberty, they want you to love learning and do what you really feel is best for you...and whatever you choose, they support you 100%. The campus is beautiful, the town is awesome, and when you go here you just want to be a part of the Brown community.
Too bad I'll never get in!!! 8 (

hey hembeck,
I'm also really interested in the literary arts program and will probably apply ED.

How crazy is it that (fingers crossed) we could all be classmates next year? It boggles my mind! I have all the essays written, but I have to fill out all the questions they ask for Chemistry concentrations on the supplement. I have a feeling I'm going to be tinkering with stuff for a couple more weeks before I submit it. I'm so nervous there's something I'm going to forget to fix!

I know, its so weird to think that if all goes as hoped I could be meeting some of you in person next year.

I hope I will get the opportunity to!

Should I be worried that i haven't gotten my account and login info? I sent in my app 3 weeks ago. I don't want to email them too hasitly, as they said it takes awhile to process, but I want my account info...

pinklady,
good luck to both of us(!) (i am insecure with my exlamation points. i always feel the reader will interpret a lack sincerity, but without them there is sometimes a marked flatness. i compromised by putting it in parenthesis.)

anyway. i hope we can both get in. it is nice for me to see someone who has interests/plans similar to mine...!

Yeah I am doing ED too. I love that liberal atmosphere, the freedom with the course selection etc. I am done with my Why brown and who got you interested in brown question though both require heavy editing and proof reading. I still have to get done with my commonapp essay. Hope to get it done in the coming weeks. Teacher recs are done.

Haha, no I haven't done the interview yet!! :) I just meant that I am excited for the interview when it comes! I hope I'll get a call soon...I sent in my application materials a little over a week ago...so maybe this week or next week they'll call me?? Anyways, good luck to everyone!

yale EA is soooooo much grander... but i still love my brown EDers

also,

there's no admit weekend for ED acceptees :(

(that would be a major booo for me)

I figure that because ED is binding, it's rather pointless to advertise the school to admits, because they have to go there anyway! I can see why an EA school would do that: they still must advertise to the admits, but with an ED school, there's no need—they're already stuck!

(Boo hoo... stuck at Brown...)

Anyone up for posting their scores and stats? Like SAT score, GPA/IB predicted, Extra-cc's. Just so that all the ED'ers have a fair clue as to what they're being put up against. My school has the IB and not many people here seem to be doing the IB diploma so I am pretty lost as to whether my 39/40 on 42 predicted is good enough for brown or not and I am getting a bit anxious. Is anyone else here doing the IB diploma or knows of anyone who is?
