Just sent off my ED application! Wish me luck!

Good luck! =)

it is due 11:59 pm nov 1, not oct 31 RIGHT???? I wrote three essays and I still have to decide which one not to send....

Eenie meenie miney mo!

oh god... so in a few hours the bunch of us (what a team!) will have sent it all in, and then we can all huddle together, penguins in a windstorm, and hold hands and deny that we're singing kumbaya to ourselves just to calm down.

also, has anyone else gotten hooked on the brown radio station yet?

OMG! I just sent in my app. I have goosebumps.
T_T

Good luck guys!

Norosimlatahasha (I forgot your screen name):

I am from Dhirubhai Ambani International School. The thing with me is, if I get deferred in december, I practically have no chance of getting in because almost all my class is applying to Brown regular and we have some really brilliant people who will annihilate all my chances. Fingers crossed.

What school are you from?

Aspire: you're from DAIS? Sweet! My cousin goes there but he's your junior, only in the 6th I reckon.
I applied last year ED and got deferred then I decided to take a gap year because I wanted to do everything I could to go to brown and it helped a LOT. I got better sATs, got awesme board results and stuff but I'm still worried, so don't worry I'm in your same position but don't be thoo worried about the deferral thing. 4 of my friends last year were deferred and got in RD and my school has a bunch of competitive students too! Trust me from experience, if you freak too much it will reflect on your other apps. Play it cool.
I go to a school in chennai called sishya. Don't suposed you've heard of it?

hollyert your post made me chuckle! I have not gotten myself hooked on the brown radio station yet. Can you access it online?

hey everyone, I'm new here so this is my 1st post! =O
I sent in my ED app yesterday at 10:30-something pm (EST).
Good luck to everyone! (hopefully wishing people good luck is good karma and I get something good in return =P)

Norolimasfaloth: Yeah I am from DAIS. Haha I don't think i'd know anyone from the 6th grade though. Wow it's amazing that you took a gap year to improve your chances. I wished I could do the same but i'm so impulsive and impatient i'd DIE in the 12 months I would have to spend while all my friends already begin living their college life. Even if I do get rejected from Brown (praaaaaaaying this doesn't happen) I still have Northwestern and stuff to fall back on. Lets see where my luck (and scores) take me. Is Sishya ICSE or CBSE or did you do the IB?

Rosarita: WBRU-FM - Homepage

It's mostly "alt rock" during the day, meaning that they play some Cake, Smashing Pumpkins, FOB, Death Cab, and some more indie stuff. They have a local music show sometime during the week, and those bands are usually good too.

The station is as good as KROQ, the biggie out here in L.A., and incorporates some from the local indie station too. I'm a happy camper!

just submitted my app....wooo..lol

Am I totally f***ed if I sent it less than 10 minutes past the deadline?
I'm an idiot, you don't have to tell me.
Oh well, I guess regular decision is not the complete end of the world...

mars: Do not worry about it. The data won't be downloaded from their servers until around 2-3am. Just make sure you sent it. Even you haven't, do it now. When the servers get sluggishly slow is when are the data sumitted are being downloaded. Hope that helps.

Ring of Fire: YES, THAT HELPS! Thank you, you may very well have just prevented a heart attack.

Ring of Fire : reallY? 100% positive? gosh dats such a relief..if it works w/ Columbia too.... awwwwwwwwwww wats wrong w/ me :(
so frustrated!!!!!!!!!!!

ColumbiaLover: I think Columbia uses their own app (applyyourself?), it's different. The application locks up at exactly 11:59:59. For CommonApp, any data not downloaded by around 2am will be downloaded at around 2am the next day. So even if you submitted your app at, say 12:29am, it will get stamped by the computers at the respective universities as received on the 2nd of November (along with the rest of the application submitted before the 12:00 deadline). Quit worrying!

wa--ait
so Columbia's locks up at exactl 11:59:59...
does dat mean i'm consdiered as regular applicant?
cuz i applied to Columbia....i'm just wandering around posting at diff colleges..

but hey thank u
..it's not like i got REJECTED so......i guess i should quit worrying...

I always tend to think the deadlines are not as set in the stone as they may appear to be. My school actually send out wrong deadline info and exam start times to students. All the official start times for exams are at least 15 minutes earlier than when they actually do start, to prevent students from timing everything to the last possible minute and turn up late. Many students though, still haven't figured this out, and always blame the invigilator for starting the exam late! The fact that you were able to submit your application means you're probably fine. So, most likely your application will be reviewed along with the rest of ED applications, but it may leave a bad impression though. Relax now, and keep up the good work for the rest of senior year.
