when are we supposed to receive an email confirming submission of the app?

I received my confirmation from commonapp within 2 seconds of submitting it. Brown however contacted me a day after that (3 days back) saying that though they received my supplement, they didn't receive my commonapp, even though I submitted one within 30 seconds of the other. I emailed them telling them this but they haven't replied yet. Hope nothing has gone wrong.

umm i haven't gotten an email from commonapp....

I sent everything in online last monday (the 27th) but I didn't get an email from Brown. My counselor sent my transcript, recs, etc on Wednesday, 2 days after, and so I'm sure Brown received them by Friday since it's local. Shouldn't they have sent me an email by now with login info and stuff?

I submitted everything on the 30th and didn't get my email either. I think Brown's just been backed up with so many applicants, so they can't get around to sending out as many emails right now.

I submitted on Nov 1 and received an email right away. Strange how some got emails and some not. I noticed that once submitted the note on common app changed to downloaded during the night last night so seems Ring of Fire was correct about the 2am ish download.

Sent in my payment in early september and sent in my app and supplement on the 31st. it says that my payment has been submitted but not downloaded (strange) and it says that my app and supplement have been downloaded, but I have not received an email yet.

....Maybe they sent emails to people they were considering for admissions. Maybe they were like no! You suck! No email for you!

Sobering thought...T_T I haven't gotten an email yet.

Let's hold hands and freak out together.

I think they're just swamped with apps. Maybe give them a couple of weeks before we start emailing them?

Yeah when I submitted my app, supplement and payment together, i immediately got an email from the commonapp and I checked back to see that they were all downloaded. But I still haven't got an email, I emailed the office and they said they are totally swamped with apps and while it may have been downloaded it may not have been entered into their records and database. They told me to wait another week before contacting them again.
I think people who submitted their apps like WAY before the deadlines are the ones who have rec'd the info whereas those of us who applied during the peak time might be backlisted

guys i may jeopardized my chances at acceptance...

i made an error on my supplement....at the end of one of the personal statements, i have "asfs" written down....how much will this hurt? will it make me seem not serious?

Well admissions officers know that we are as much human as they are and that we are prone to mistakes as well.

I mean you probably should have checked it before submitting(and I'm sure you did) but it's done now, and it seems rather insignificant so I don't think you should worry about it.

Should I be worried if I submitted my app on Oct. 31, called Brown today, and they said they only recieved my supplement?

Well does it say "Downloaded" next to your Application or just "Submitted"?

They are probably VERY busy filing things at the moment so they might just not have come to your application yet. You should wait a few more days and call again if you are still worried about it.

Thanks. On common app, it says downloaded.

Then they probably didn't get to filing it. I wouldn't worry about it as long as CommonApp says it is downloaded =)

holds hands with everyone and freaks out

yeah i did double check, i thought i removed it....i probably did but forgot to "save" (i hate that about the commonapp, you have to click save after every little change and they don't prompt you to save after you try to exit the page or something), whatever its done now....no point in worrying about it

I'm nervous, and I think I'll be nervous for a very long time, but there's some comfort in freaking out together rather than alone.

I just realized that I forgot a huge point in my essay : |
*****.
I'm gonna cry so hard if I get flat out rejected..at least let me get deferred.
although when I did a Brown overnight a few weeks ago, I stayed in Keeney...and everyone said that they only 2 people in keeney that applied e.d., got deferred and then got admitted. and keeney houses like 50% of the freshman class.
Something to think about, I guess.
