WHY DIDN'T I GET IN???????????????????????

CONGRATULATIONS to Duffman and Phish! Allow me to be the first Jumb09 to preemptively welcome you to our community. We were just discussing the other day how you already know you'll be here like nine months from now, but we still have the entire second half of our freshman year to finish! It'll be great meeting you all - looking forward to making sure the freshmen are social - and if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Deferrees - hang tight! it's perfectly possible to get in after a deferral. If Tufts is where you belong, they'll see that and snatch you in.

To those who did not get in - I know it may seem like a huge deal, but I promise you, the fact that Tufts did not recognize your awesome qualities just means that it's not where you belong. You will be happier somewhere else, somewhere that understands why you are worthy. I applied early decision to Penn when I was sixteen years old, and then was deferred - then, January onward, my entire LIFE happened! I found out so many things about myself, and experienced so much, that I feel like an entirely different person. I know now that I would not have been happy at all at Penn - and Penn clearly saw that, so they said no, and hoped that this would narrow my pool and I'd end up at the right place. And I did - for ME. So will you!

--Nay

^ Thanks Blurinka!

Congrats Phish and good luck to all those who got deferred again.

Congrats to the Jumbos of 2010!!! :) :)

To those who were deferred: search "PistolPete" and find his saga - deferred ED, then got in regular admission, and is a very happy Jumbo. You might have to look through the old forum (yeah, you young kids don't know what that is) - maybe try googling it.

General Comments:

ACCEPTED

Also in at Boston College and Georgetown. Leaning toward BC right now and waiting to hear from Princeton, Brown, et al. ...

You were accepted ED to Tufts but your leaning towards another school? You are aware ED is binding right?

(And besides, BC over Tufts or Georgetown??)

LOL!! I'm pretty sure trevian is either a total liar or extremely ignorant.

I'd like to think I am neither. I finished all my apps and sent them out around the same time. I did not intentionally apply early to Tufts (or Georgetown for that matter), but just used the general dates on BC's early application as a guide since I'm hoping to be considered for a Presidential Scholarship. So far, I have heard back only from these three schools. I'll call Tufts and tomorrow and make sure I have not done anything wrong. If I have, trust me it was an honest mistake. And yes I will call Princeton (and everywhere else) and let them know that I'm applying for regular admission ... !
