have all the CAS acceptance letters been sent out?

I called admissions and apparently there are indeed two waves. They say it doesnt make a difference which wave of letters yours comes from, but then again if they did tell me there was a difference they would have been basically saying I was rejected... which they would not do. Either way it is a bit odd that no rejections have been posted? Either CC people are really smart or everyone thats waiting isnt gonna be happy.

ABirch III, no offense, but take it from a Tisch Drama alum, you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. The vast majority of people I met at Tisch, from Film to Drama, were extremely intelligent, savvy, aware individuals, many of whom were double majoring in some very challenging NYU programs. Of course you have the occasional intellectual minor, but thats life, and can be found at just about every program at the school. Tisch kids have to fight an uphill battle on both the academic, and artistic front to gain entrance into one of the best arts programs on the planet, and it shows in the strong caliber of students it accepts.

[li] First thought when you saw the envelope: Woot!!!!![/li][/ul]

the probably mailed out all the acceptances for Stern. Maybe something tomorrow but otherwise it looks dim. Some people in my school are yet to find out from Stern and CAS, but its a big reach for all of them. But best of luck.

well weren't they sent out randomly w/ the other schools? and are you saying acceptances were sent first..rejections later?

i would think that is the case

Legionaire: I agree..
I think they are sending all acceptances out first and rejections later. So if we do not receive an a letter by the end of this week or Monday of next, we can assume we were rejected.

Sccepted students need to know that they were accepted so they can send their deposits in on time, etc..

Just my two cents!

Hold your guns there Jaq, nobody is saying that all Tisch drama people aren't intelligent. My comments were based on MY experience, and I think if one is browse the stats on this board of admits from both last and this year of film vs. drama, my view would be supported. But I digress, like I said, my comments were based on what I've seen. Matth has had a very different experience with Tisch drama kids, it happens, people have different views, that's one of the reasons for this board's existence after all.

Thanks ABirch III, I am aware of the purpose of a message board, and its inherent strengths, and weaknesses. I reacted according to my own experience, perhaps rashly, and for that I do apologize.

But you did tap into one of CC's, and the education system in general, biggest flaws. People around here place gross importance on "stats", though understandble when considering the structure of the college admissions process. They are no more a reliable indication of overall intelligence than an IQ test. Some of the most intelligent people I know, beyond just the school work, haven't the "stats" to back it up, but I'd highly doubt anyone would suggest them inferior based off such a loose, and faulty criteria.

Was anyone accepted to Tisch for Cinema Studies? I'm applying for that, so I'm just curious as to what kind of stats have been accepted.

Also, thanks to those who posted that little profile! :D
