[li]Included essay on why I wanted to attend Princeton, it was "moving"[/li][/ul]

Yea congrats and all that good stuff, but I have no respect for princeton anymore. They can't THIS shamelessly take legacies. That goes for all of them...I haven't seen a legacy/family connection kid deferred yet. And all along, I thought the stereotypes weren't true..sigh

I know. I thought they'd be less superficial this time around but apparently I was wrong. I've kinda lost respect for them as well. It's like a blind legacy-acceptance.

After a tour we talked to an admissions person who said that "legacy" meant a parent attended. I did have a number of uncles, great-uncles, great-grandparents, etc etc, who graduated. Did it have any pull? Who knows. But those admissions officer might see immediate family different than extended...? Again, who knows!

Congrats to everyone accepted, and the best of luck to all those deferees for the next round!

The legacy issue crossedmy mind while figuring out where to apply early (although it had no bearing on my decision) but I did not want to get in just because of my legacy, I wanted to earn my spot. However, since like I said about 60% legacies DO get rejected, I wouldn't mind that helping my regular application.

My friend who got rejected from Upenn said something quite wise: "Que sera, sera"

Thanks for the luck zante- if all works out, we could be there together! Although I have put all my energy towards Yale for early, I love Princeton just as much.

Yes, same here. I put all my energy for Princeton early, but I really love Yale just as much. No more Yale bashing from this one, I need all the luck I can get now.

my brother was a legacy (1510/800/790/790/1 question off of USAMO) and got deffered. His friend was a legacy(1600/800/800/800/800/800/4.0uw at competitive magnet) and got REJECTED RD. Yes, legacy helps, but 60% of legacies do get rejected.

I honestly believe that Princeton is taking the people with lower scores now and saving the higher stat people for later. Is it true that they want to up their stats in the RD round?
