Official Ed Decisions!

First of all, as a proud member of the class of 2007, I'd like to congratulate you all who were accepted to the class of 2009! We're excited to have you. If you have any questions, or want to share in the Orange love, feel free to shoot me a message.

To those of you who were deferred, nothing that I can say will make it better, but try contacting the admission office, write letters, talk to your counselors - I have quite a few friends who were deferred then admitted, so it can definitely happen. Keep the hopes up, enjoy the rest of senior year, and good luck.

And I'd just like to second what a few people were saying about athletes - athletes are some of the hardest working, smartest, and most fun kids I've met at Princeton. It may be a hook, but it's by no means everything - these kids are some of the brightest kids at Princeton and I know from personal experience that they're not "just jocks." I know from watching some of my friends (including one of my closest friends who is a top swimmer) that sports take up a lot of time and commitment, and then there's still all the school work to be done. And they work just as hard as the rest of us, and don't get away with anything (maybe they do at other schools, I don't know) just because they're awesome on the field/court/pool/whatever.

So, with that, congrats and good luck to all.

Hey PW, maybe your'e on the list to be notified by phone!!!!!!!! Seriously, you must be going crazy - and they will give you an answer on the phone after a certain date, does that start tomorrow?? We're pulling for you down here in the states!!!!!!!!

ahhhh! so many here were accepted...

Cookiemom,

LOL -- still floating. Dizzy-son wants so badly to be mad at us for the mailman car-chase, but he's so happy and relieved that he can't be...harmony reigns...

cookiemom,

thx a lot!!! and, is there an actual list where they plan to notify those ppl by phone? I can call tomorrow at noon EST... i really really really really realluy really really really really hope i get in.... god.. please....

on another note. i got this email from the assistant director of admissions...

"Dear --

Just wanted to give you an update about decision letters.?If you have not recieved yours in the mail by noon EST on Wednesday the 15th, you may either call our office at 609-258-3060 or email to uaoffice@princeton.edu for your decision.?If you choose to email us, make sure you email us from the address you listed on your application.?The address you last wrote from is not the address we have on your application.?We will not be able to respond to unknown email addresses even if you identify yourself in the body of the email.?Thanks!"

what's really weird is that she knows the email i uses to email the pton admissions office to ask about my application is not the one i used for my app... so i thot the fact she wrote me this email out of no where is either 1) very good news.. so she wants to make sure i call and get the news.... or 2) bad news.. she knew i got deferred/rejected and that the mail wont come for awhile.. so she tells me to call or email instead...... :( hope it's the former!

Thanks for the info PW, I mailed...

Princetonwannabe-----Good luck, and thanks again for your updates throughout the ED round! I hope you get in.

Deferred. Oh well. It's good to have expected it. I can join the Deferred People Club :)

Astrix.. did they give u an email decision or did u get the letter?

I got the letter

great way to end the thread i started.. i was deferred.

and many of you know my stats already.. its just the same as most of other ED deferrals... strong testing, awesome recs, tough coures, good estimated rank.. but nothing too outstanding at the national level....

i hate to admit this now... now, come to think of it.. i dont even think i have a chance RD anymore.. i got a B in first trimester of eng ap.... eng is my weakness... the B just compounded it.. thx teacher...

all deferrees and rejects, take heart: my deferral (and subsequent rejection) from princeton last year turned out to be one of the best things to ever happen to me

really? how so?

I second apple, lol

Dont end it yet - my rejection letter's still on its way!

[/quote]

I have 4 national level and one international level awards. But bad test scores and mediocre rank. So, they want solid stats AND national/intl awards. :/ .....blah.

Sorry to hear of your deferral, pw. You still have a chance for ED - don't give up!!

adds to the large RD prayer list, because we need all the help we can get!
