Other ED deadlines are the 15th too. Like Bowdoin. So not necessarily. Depends on the school.

In the commonapplication, in addition to the ECs I wrote in the activities section, I submitted my Curriculum Vitae/Resume under Writing- additional qualifications. Will Amherst read it, because if not, I’m almost doomed…

I thought that beginning last year (Class of 2014) all acceptances were by email.

It doesn’t really matter to me, actually.

ED acceptances for Class of 2014 were mailed out (snail, not e) on Thursday, December 10, last year.

^only acceptances, or all decisions?

^^Of course all decisions are mailed. They certainly are not going to leave the rejected and deferred students hanging since that means you’ll need to get your other applications in order.

I called the Admisssions Office two separate times regarding ED notification via email. Both times they said starting with the class of 2014, ED notifications are done me email with follow-up letter.

So email Dec 10th? funny how noone really seems to really know from what I am reading above!

Just called admissions and Minkominko is correct. They’ll be emailing you “the week before” and you should expect a follow up ACTUAL LETTER by the 15th. So chances are, you’ll get the email first.

From looking at last year’s thread, it looks like all the decisions were mailed for non-international student.

Yeah, but I guess the admissions office is trying something more ecologically savvy this year :D

q11… that’s an “interesting” link to last years “followers of ED”. And somewhat sobering as the majority of those closely monitoring the board for notification were deferred. Nevertheless, time to keep positive, keep constructive, aim for the stars and keep the dream alive.

Sobering indeed!

Hmm I just saw a weird comment from the old Amherst ED 2014 Thread…
A guy said he got rejected ED I but reapplied ED II and got accepted.
Is he talking about Amherst for both EDs?
I didn’t know it was possible to ED twice…

Must have been another school as Amherst only has ED1.

I read that post too. It’s because that poster was a Questbridge applicants, and for those applicants, the rules differ. Amherst indeed has an EDII type roud for QBers.

I saw that group too and the people in it don’t go to Amherst, or they’re not in the class of 2015.

And I think people should refrain from joining until they’re actually accepted…

elbeeen, I would have to agree with you. Somewhat fishy. Pre-pre-pre-ED (ED .1) ? I suppose… that some of these individuals could have been accepted when their parents contributed $71.79M to the school for a new science building or are, perhaps, the deans son. Ahhhh hah !!! Or… if they are the son of the dean at Williams! But, alas, don’t think that’s the case. Sounds like a bunch of kids who have too much spare time, internet access and are, apparently, having fun doing… something. Time to say “pass” …

crap. i have reached that period in the anticipatory process where i have no motivation to do anything until i find out.
