<p>Yepp, “the week before” the fifteenth. I put that in quotes because that’s exactly what the admissions secretary told me. If you’re still unsure, go on the live chat tomorrow night and ask the deans. They’ll probably have an even more accurate idea of when emails will be out because I asked like last week.</p>
<p>Anyone have an idea about when the chat might end? I probably won’t get home before 9pm…</p>

i’m also applying ed, and i’m SO nervous! i feel like amherst is possibly a reach, just because my standardized test scores are a little lower than what everyone has been posting… but i hope that i’m accepted. i also hope we hear soon- any more ideas as to when we’ll know? it’d be awesome to hear before saturday (so that i don’t have to go take the acts one more time…)</p>

<p>Nope, it’s not bad at all. If you type in amherst.edu/admissions tomorrow night, there’s an open forum for ANYONE to sign up and participate. People who were personally emailed were already on Amherst’s mailing list - that’s the only difference between you and them.</p>

<p>Last Friday, Amherst requested my First Semester grades in support of my ED application. Does this mean anything or is it just “normal”?</p>
<p>Did your guidance counselor tell you this? I have no clue what it means. Probably just to make sure that you’re continuing to progress academically throughout your senior year.</p>
<p>It showed up as “Received” on my Amherst account - I assume Amherst requested it.</p>
<p>I actually just checked and mine is “received” too. Interesting. Does anyone else know what that means?</p>
<p>My school automatically sends 1st quarter grades to colleges that we apply to early. I think it’s standard procedure, just as RD schools would look at midyear grades…one more data point</p>

<p>I won’t get my grades for fall quarter until next week and I assumed all along that I’d just send them in late December if I got accepted. Guess I’ll be making a call tomorrow.</p>
<p>I believe the request for 1st quarter grades is quite typical. If anything… and this is only offered as a totally subjective, no-basis opinion… it is probably a “good thing” - you’re on their radar, they want to confirm what classes you are taking and how you are doing (no senioritus. If they didn’t care… they wouldn’t ask. </p>
<p>Continue to breathe deeply… calmly… relax… breathe in the goooooooood air… exhale the baaaaaad air… in with the good, out with the bad…</p>
