Okay so I have to ask, since letters are right around the corner:
Do you wish that you had told everyone OR no one about your ED to NYU?

No one! :(

no one!! but in the end, everyone found out…

question, did all the liberal arts letters go out or are there more to come? i wonder if i was chosen…

I’m not too sure, central park. But I’d have to guess that if you haven’t found out by now, there’s a good chance you didn’t get LSP’d. So you’re either in, or you’re not.

Does that only apply to people who are fairly close to New York? Have we heard of anyone who was sent an LSP letter not living in New York/New Jersey/Connecticut?

And no one. I’m in a small magnet program at my school where everyone knows everything about everyone–I know who applied ED where and when they’ll find out and they all know about me!

London or Paris?

I’m pretty sure that means everyone. They purposely send out the LSP letters a few weeks before ED decisions so that the LSP people have extra time to decide whether or not they want to attend this program. Some people heard before Thanksgiving. If you got your letter for LSP the same week as ED decisions, that would completely defeat the purpose of mailing them out earlier, lol. I’m pretty sure they’re done LSPing and they’re onto accepting/rejecting now…

EVERYONE in my HUGE school knows that I want to go to NYU. If I don’t get in, I’m just telling people I got in and can’t go for monetary reasons. Its far less embarrassing then letting everyone know I got rejected, lol.

Hm… London. Never been to Paris, but if you live in London you can always visit Paris while not having to learn a new language ^__^.

Lady Gaga or Britney Spears?

lmao well…i didnt tell ANYONE. and i made sure i didnt. lol i told one of my friends yesterday but shes a junior and doesnt go to my skool or talk to n e of my friends except one, who basically smokes and gets bad grades…so i dont think they’ll care lol. and she’ll prolly forget anyways.

as for even my best friend, havent told her. i was wondering if i should tell her if i get in. which probly wont happen lol but i hope it does! its kinda betraying her lol but then again shes betrayed me by lying so many more times to me than i have to her…soo i guess she wouldnt care…shed prolly be happy for me and sad that my parents wud let me go. cuz her parents want her to go to a uc skool cus its cheaper.

my parents dont want me to go there and so they dont really tell anyone…i dont think they have at least. i hope not…cuz theyre big blabber mouths! lol jk but they do tell ppl a lot more than they should! but they tell evry1 im applying to ucla and berkeley and stuff…?? lmao so yeahh…i dooont think n e one knows. im preTTy safe!

i guess no hard feelings if i didnt get in…? this is REALLY long!

and lady gaga. but i love em both. : ] britney spears is prettier tho and lady gaga has better music

i shud probly call nyu to see if i was lsped…since theyve sent them all…just in case. my parents mightve hid it or sumthin lol altho i dont think theyd do that.

No where does it say all LSP acceptances have been sent out, or any at all! It says the majority of ALL applications will be sent out by the end of next week.

Idk where everyone is getting their information from…but the only reliable source is the NYU website.[NYU > Undergraduate Admissions](<a href=“Undergraduate Admissions”>http://admissions.nyu.edu/)

attention everybody, on the ED facebook group, two people have claimed they have gotten in. one was to Steinhardt, and I’m not sure about the other.

@ nyuandme
People have already received them. I’ve been following the NYU forum here religiously. If people say they’ve been accepted to the program, I’m going to believe they have and aren’t lying. Also, in the years past they’ve done it the same way. They send out the LSP letters in order to give those people more time to decide whether or not they want to attend this program (it is no longer binding when you are accepted to LSP). I never said “all of them have been sent out”, I was just stating that they PROBABLY all have because it would defeat the purpose giving those students extra time if they mailed them out at the same time as accept/reject decisions.

The “majority of decisions” they’re talking about on the admissions website are accept/reject decisions, not LSP. They will be sent out towards the end of this week. Yes, the NYU admissions office is the best source out there. But considering several people have already received their letters about LSP, I’m pretty sure they’re not talking about LSP decision letters at all.

What if we just play around with the officers?

Call NYU and tell them that your mother/father ripped up the LSP paper thinking it was junk mail and you’d like another copy. The rep on the phone will either be okay with sending you another or will trip up and say, “I am sorry, you didn’t get in” or “I am sorry, you didn’t get LSPed.”

or they’ll forward you to the LSP office and NOW you’ll be on the phone with an admissions officer who has your name. what would you say then?

i went through ambassador training, and they tell them to default to forwarding the prospective student to an officer. the student ambassador you first speak to has no real power- they’re just there to look up information and direct your calls. they would probably just forward your call.

The same thing. If they send out another letter, you know you are accepted. If they do not, then you know you are either not LSPed or rejected. You can then call back again and be transferred to your respective college and try the system all over again.

If you are accepted, you will appear to be asking for another package. If you are rejected, what are they going to do? Take your name and report you to the police for exploiting a loophole in the phone system? Call you an idiot?

“attention everybody, on the ED facebook group, two people have claimed they have gotten in. one was to Steinhardt, and I’m not sure about the other.”

I don’t think a couple of claims on a FB group is gonna be of any assurance.

Yeah I’m not saying people on here are lying…I’m just saying there might be a few out there still. It also depends where people live

WHAT someone from my school just told me he got into NYU…he doesn’t know if it’s LSP or CAS. Very disconcerting.

Obviously they wouldn’t do anything like that.

Knowing NYU bureaucracy, they would just say something generic and non-committal.

Yeah…I’m trying to get him to show me the letter actual, but he won’t. Also, he claims to have gotten it ‘over the weekend.’

Yeah. In theory, it should work. But, going off of what you said, they probably have a generic “resend paper” line, and it’ll just send your rejection/acceptance/etc all over again.

The theory would only get your status/decision a few days before anything came in the mail. And then another copy of that decision would come around the same time as the first set.
