Official ED Thread Class of 2014!

i basically told everyone i want to go to nyu for i cannot keep anything secret thats constantly on my mind and because i also made a movie interviewing people for nyu.

anyways, it wouldnt be a big deal if i dont get in. definitely not embarrassing, because nyu is a difficult school to get into. and so what if i dont get in? am i then a bad person? not good enough gpa? SATs? ECs? who cares. anyone that is smart enough will understand college selection process is all a matter of chance, especially so in more prestigious schools. and hopefully i will be better than to care for what other people think if i dont get in.

oh well. i will find out soon enough.
gluck everyone :)

Still doesn’t explain why he’d get that on a Saturday. Is the office even open on Saturdays?

it isn’t, but the post office is. i got my first rejection on a saturday.

He got it by email…

NYU does not send e-mail acceptances/rejections.

They do, for international.

people on this site have gotten accepted to LSP as well. I really have little doubt that the LSP letters were already sent out. I do, however, doubt that any other type of accept/reject letter has gone out. They say on the website they’re not going out till the end of this week, I don’t think they’re toying with us on that.

And people received their LSP letters Thanksgiving weekend (on this website people have mentioned it)! So really, I think the LSP letters are done being sent out by now. I even think they’ve reached who they’re supposed to reach. Idk, at this point I just believe that if you haven’t gotten a LSP letter you’re more likely to get an accept/reject letter than to receive an LSP letter all of the sudden.

I am so tense right now. I told my mom and dad they’re not allowed to go to the mailbox from now on until i get notified haha I want to see the envelope myself.

Anyone here apply ED Tisch for musical theatre?

I’ll be thrilled if I get into any Drama studio, but I reallyyyy want musical theatre and I feel that’s where I belong since my singing is stronger than my acting or dancing.

I hope NYU doesn’t stress on my math score, its on a ■■■■■■ level. And my gpa is like average. I just hope they see the passionate, indomitable girl behind those numbers…

I know one person (out of several of my friends who auditioned) who got into the musical theatre program. getting in is REALLY intense, but I really hope you do because, from what i hear, its just incredible. I’m pretty sure they overlook scores if your audition is terrific.

You mean they got into the musical theatre program of last year? Or the New Studio on Broadway? Because we’re supposed to get notified in a week or so…

nahh two years ago. not this year, sorry  But good luck !

Just got into the LSP program :)))

Congrats!!
Good to know there are some LSPs still out there
Are you from the states?

okayyy…um just called the Undergraduate Admissions Office, now they are claming that they are mailing out letters in the next two weeks? and we should be hearing from them in another two weeks? and that also they dont really know when exactly they are sending letters??..woah I was just counting on the 15th now I dont know WHEN im going to hear back from this school…

Hi there. First time poster, few week long lurker.
I just got LSP’d today… Not quite sure how I feel about it, but whatever.

j.m.j.: maybe they are just doing that to get people to stop calling them? Who knows.

i got in LSP today

kind of disappointed because i ofcourse wanted to be formally accepted into cas (without being restricted to liberal classes) but it’s still awesome BECAUSE I’M GOING TO NYU

WOW Congrats Centralpark!!!
" BECAUSE I’M GOING TO NYU " – exactly! I’m still waiting for NYU mail. Hopefully I will see you NY!

Grats to all that have been accepted. Since I heard about LSP two weeks ago, I’ve had time to think a lot about it. Basically, it lets you get your MAP classes done your first year, still have time to start your major your freshman year and, in your sophmore year, have more than half of your classes in CAS (or your school of selection). Since I like small class sizes anyway, not much of a burden for me :)

The only real downside is that it doesn’t let you start with a few things in mind (regarding your major) and kind of pick between them your sophomore year. You need to be a bit more selective with your elective choices in your first three semeseters, particularly if you have a major with a lot of prereqs. Assuming you have a pretty good idea of what you want to do, this isn’t a problem.

Congrats on LSP all of you  I’m surprised so many of you got the letters today… where are you guys from? hitmenow got the letter two weeks ago =O I’m trying to be cautiously optimistic since I still haven’t received mail from NYU (I figured I’d be lsp’d). oh jeeez. This is the longest week of my life. Let’s hope someone receives an “accepted” letter by Saturday so we don’t all have a collective anxiety attack over the fact that every other school can give a definite date of notification for ED except NYU :frowning: :(
