Congrats to all! Do well on your AP Tests (at least 4 classes that NYU accepts) and you’ll probably get out of LSP early. My daughter is finishing up her last LSP class this semester and will be CAS '12.

oh and @ j.m.j

I know this has been posted on CC before (i don’t remember if it was this thread but…) this is what’s on the admissions website “The majority of admissions decisions for Early Decision applicants will be mailed toward the end of the week of December 7th. (Please note that we said “the majority” and not “all.”) Most of the remaining decisions will be in the mail by the end of the following week.” Someone calculated that the usual day they send it on (to get it to everyone by the 15) is Dec 10 (this Thursday). It could reach people in NYC as early as Friday, if that’s the case. It could reach me by Saturday =X. Idk… all of this is sort of speculation… but its kind of my way of thinking there’s SOME method to the madness.

got LSPd today!!
i’m from nj.
a girl in my school found out she was LSPd a couple weeks ago. I thought they were finished sending out LSP letters but i guess not…

thanks everyone for the congrats and the advice!!! i hope you all get in to nyu and we can all be classmates =) hahaha!!

also, a girl from my school got her lsp during thanksgiving week. she applied a few weeks earlier than me if that matters at all

what were your lsp stats?

j.m.j., you called and they siad don’t expect anything for a couple weeks? Didn’t they say no later than the 18th? It does say december or early january on the site, but I will be FURIOUS if it’s not soon because I don’t want to have to submit all those apps only to withdraw them a couple days later. I will be so ****ed.

-____- I’m at $750 for apps alone (not including SAT scores being sent) if I don’t hear back from NYU with enough time. I refuse to waste that kind of money only to be told I need a deposit in three weeks.

I mean I have no idea to tell you the truth, but if thier website says week of the 7th letters are going out and since some people are starting to trickle in with decisions then the DEADLINE has to be the 15th and by the end of the week of the 15th then everyone should hear back assuming the rejection letters come at the end of next week 18-20th…I think thats what he ment by 2 weeks.

ahhh let’s not start more craziness here. I’m not entirely sure what you meant by that, but I’m almost positive they don’t mail back the accepted letters separately from the rejected letters. Don’t anybody go killing yourself just because you haven’t heard back by the end of next week, lol.

unless its diffrent from last year statistically speaking…now remeber STATISTICALLY speaking those who heard much later where rejected…so that why i made them seperate.

cause I garuntee we will have some people hear back this friday, some on saturday then the BULK come monday and tuesday…then watch it trickle…but really though keep in good hopes cause I know I need to!

yeah me too. good luck jmj i hope we both get in :D

Is it time to press the panic button? ><

@sleepinggrunt…

HELL NO!

TOO LATE. School and midterms seem so trivial now compared to Big Things aka DECISIONS.

I posted this in another thread, but perhaps my son’s ED experience from last year will help to alleviate some of the anxiety:

Hi:
I’m back on CC after my son and I experienced a lot of stress at just this point in the ED process for Tisch (Film/TV) last year. I figure it would be nice if I can save someone else from any of the angst he felt at this time. If I remember correctly, some international students heard from UPS first and others by email. I think many if not most internationals heard before applicants within the US because NYU mailed decision to domestics via USPS. My son’s acceptance letter (which came in the large packet like the other schools at NYU) was dated December 10, but he didn’t receive it until the 15th.
Last years the rumors were just like this year. In hindsight, I think only the LSP acceptances went out earlier then the 2nd week of December. Try to hang in there and not listen to a lot of the rumors. By the time my son heard, he had really worked himself up (as had I.) Unfortunately, there’s no magic to this- you hear when you hear and there is no way to account for how long the decision will take to get to you once it’s in the mail. Also, my son’s NYU Net ID did not activate until after he accepted so if you hear that’s a way to tell if you’re accepted, don’t sweat it if it doesn’t work for you. Good luck!

Well I live in Maryland and I submitted my app on the deadline day and from what I’ve read a bunch of people have been getting theirs since Thanksgiving break so I think they do it in the order they receive the apps

@ momofdb
where are you guys from? The East Coast? I was hoping to get mine on Saturday if they send them out on Dec 10 (I live in NJ) but just seeing how some people in NJ didn’t get their LSP decisions until TODAY, I wouldn’t be surprised if I’m just getting my hopes up.

also, thanks for posting that. I’ve been reading this forum for maybe two years now (LOL I’m pathetic) so I remember a lot of this stuff from last year, but sometimes I feel like I only vaguely remember and could be making it up. Don’t want to give false info thanks again for reassuring us all.

i hope my parents dont open my acceptance letter. they keep opening my mail and i tell them not to…its so annoying. ill be sooo pizzed if they do (idk if it allows me to say ****ed). but i dont think we’ve gotten it yet so ill tell the guy who gets our mail to call my cell and put it in a drawer if he gets it. i hope he follows the directions tho! he’s from a diff country and isnt really good at speaking english.

but okay…if ive done some general ed while in high school, and go LSPed…then what happens? im basically gonna complete my general ed before high school is out. i shud have wrote that in my app but i didnt : /

im from california…ill prolly be the one saying “rejected” lmao or u wont hear from me…ever again. lol jk i will come back. : ] friends that ive never met : P
