wow I’m shocked you didn’t get in.

On regular decision, does CMU wait until April 1st to notify everyone for RD?

@Randwulf, Yeah I’m also surprised you didn’t get in.

Now you’ve got me worried; I applied SCS too and my stats aren’t that far from yours:
CR:750 M: 800 W: 710 1550/2260
MII: 800 BioE: 730
GPA: ~3.5 from Stuyvesant HS(Ranked #31 this year by US News)

I’m probably getting my letter tomorrow, I’ll update when I get it.

College Choices
Preference College Department Program Decision
1 SCS M-C Not Admitted

I’m sad…

Wow I personally think ED I is less competitive than ED II

I’ll assume that you’re wrong because I don’t feel like kicking myself for not applying ED1 xD

They say they treat both the same but I can’t possibly see how they can stop thinking about all the people they accepted for ED I.

DS is still waiting for ED II decision. Anyone else?

Still waiting for my CIT ED II decision. Maybe tonight at 12 AM they will release it?

Still waiting for ED II decision. Hopefully out today. It’s been mind numbing to watch others receive their decisions already lol.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I contacted the admission office re: ED acceptance rates and found out that for the computer science program they accepted 21 applicants from ED applications…ONLY 21… so don’t feel bad. Sometimes the “holistic approach” to reviewing applications is flawed. Nothing on paper can indicate your passion for a field or your quirkiness or uniqueness… Remember that there is always grad school, so make the most of your experiences wherever you attend college.

Has anyone heard back?

DS has not heard yet.

I’m still waiting. 2 days till admissions are posted online?

Got letter in mailbox today. Rejected. ><

Aw silver, I’m so sorry. Hopefully you’ll end up somewhere that you love (even if it’s not CMU). Best of luck!

General question-
On the where am i in the process page, does everyone have the line where it says something like folder pulled committee review? Should I call? (My application was turned in late…)
Because I still don’t have that… :(

awww calcul8er thanks.
I did have that line that said “Folder pulled, committee read(y?)”
I would call, as I had to call for some things too and well… they were rather blunt(?) to be honest.

silver, what school did you apply to? im sorry to hear about your decision and i hope u end up somewhere u love. and i have something that says “Folder Pulled committee read”.

lol thanks Flipper. I applied to MCS.!
as of right now though, I’m probably going to be stuck in some uni in CA…

I was also surprised Randwulf didn’t get in. My stats are worse than his, but I got into CIT (EDII) which is less competitive than SCS.

SAT
Reading: 680
Math: 700
Writing: 690
(wanted to take it again but didn’t get the chance)

SAT II
Math: 800
Physics: 690

EC: I’m trombone section leader, made the All-Region/All-Area band, ones at UIL Solo/Ensemble, and awards at marching contests. Calculus club, NHS, and NSHSS. Community service wasn’t extensive.

Other: Ranked 8/550, all A’s through high school, essays and recommendations were very good, Nation Merit semifinalist. Lots of APs with 4s and 5s on tests. My GPA is 110/100 at my school (probably about 3.8/4.0 unweighted).

I’m sending in my aid stuff tomorrow. I should find out what aid I can get before we have to send in our $800 acceptance fee, right?
