**Official ED2 Thread**

Hey guys :) Theres no ED2 thread yet so I decided to make one.
Best of luck to all of us!

Hi, my wescheck shows I’m missing financial certification which was sent like a month ago. I called Wesleyan admission, and they keep telling me to wait till it to be processed. What should I do?

@s2jhlee They have a huge load of financial aid documents that was sent to them and its natural that it would take some time to process all of that. I also sent in one of my financial aid documents a week ago and it hasn’t been processed yet.

I am an international student and I have to prove my financial status because i’m not applying for financial aid. But still, I’m getting worried after 4 weeks of waiting.

Last minute ED2 switch over here. Good luck, guys!

Ahh! Hello everyone. I’ve applied ED2 to Wesleyan, too. It was a bit of a last-minute decision, but I feel confident that it was the right thing to do. Two people from my school were already accepted to Wes from the November ED pool.

I’m interested in anthropology and film, how about you guys? Oh, and do any of you know when we’ll hear back?

I’m interested in film and environmental studies! I believe online notifications will be posted on Feb 15th.

@buffalojump
Do you know the approximate stats of the two people accepted? I applied ED 2 as well but I’m worried as my grades and standardized testing scores fall a little short from Wesleyan’s average.

ahchewchew! That’s sweet! I know Wesleyan’s film department is one of the best, and I love that it’s all-encompassing, with theory and production and everything. I’ve taken film courses over the past two summers (mostly focused on traditional narrative stuff) and, though I’m more interested in experimental and documentary work, it’s definitely something I want to pursue-- especially if I end up at Wes! Also, thanks. I guess we’ll be hearing back about three weeks from now! I feel like my life is at a complete standstill til then. Honestly, last night I probably spent three hours stalking Wesleyan blogs.

@splassh, hm, I don’t think I can fully answer that question (sorry). They’re both good students for sure, but neither of them are intense overachievers or anything. I do know that they are both really interesting, eccentric people and I’m sure that was to their advantage.

@buffalojump I agree! Wesleyan’s film program is one of the main reasons I actually applied to the school and I’ve heard wonderful things about Jeanine Basinger. Haha, and I know exactly what you mean…I think I’ve watched the majority of the videos on Wesleyan’s youtube channel and I’ve been reading through the wesleying blog lately as well. Definitely not the healthiest behavior…I’m anticipating Feb 15th like crazy.

17 days left!!!
I hope we all get in!
@s2jhlee they took 3 weeks to process my financial certificate. I am an international applicant too.
Where are you from??

@RShake, I’m from South Korea, living in Kentucky

Ohhh, nicee!!
Has anyone heard from Wesleyan??

Hi everyone! Best of luck to all- I’m super nervous! I don’t think I’m going to get in! But, does anyone know how we check to see our admission status on the 15th?

Just got an email from admissions: “The Wesleyan Early Decision Round Two online decision notification page will be available beginning at 3:00 pm EST Friday, February 15, 2015. Starting at that time applicants will be able to log in using the link below to access their admission decision letters.”

There’s a link attached to the decision page-- from there, I guess you log in with your Wes ID.

I’m assuming that by 2015 they really mean 2013!

Lol…don’t make any assumptions! If that weren’t the typographical error it obviously is, they’d be admitting you after two gap years—yielding a whole new connotation to the idea of “Early Decision II”!!

Sent from my ADR6410LVW using CC

Applying Early Decision II as well. I’m interested in Wesleyan’s math, econ, and film (screenwriting) programs. Don’t think I’m going to get in either [I think this is the prevailing feeling for everyone though], despite getting fairly good grades and test scores.

Also I only submitted the ACT (34, but with a writing score of 7 ahhhhhh) even though I had SAT scores as well, will this put me at a disadvantage?

Best of luck to everyone!

Not submitting your SAT definitely won’t put you at a disadvantage (particularly if they’re on the lower end of the spectrum). I was hesitant to even send my SAT scores simply because they’re closer to the 25 percentile, but I’m hoping they’ll use my strong ACT (33) as their basis…

I think you’ll be fine in regards to testing, madlawyer.

I think that most colleges evaluate applicants on whichever score, ACT or SAT, is higher.
