The original ED thread fell into disuse, so I'm putting this one up for anyone who has received or will receive decisions from Wesleyan. :)

Waiting on RD. Got months to go.

Yup. Applied RD.

RD, here too.

My D was delighted to be admitted ED I !

Beloved son was deferred to ED II. Question: Would it have been "better" to have been deferred to RD? Thanks.

Deuxchevaux, it seems to me that if your son is still sure he wants to go to Wes, being deferred to ED II is better. Hope you get some good news soon! My beloved S is a freshman this year. He got in RD -- and the Wes letter was the very last to come, a whole week after all the rest. The waiting was agony. Hope you get to avoid that!

Thank you Skie. My son just fell in love with Wesleyan and cannot seem to get over it, ie: show real interest in applying to other schools. I am a little bewildered as it wasn't exactly my cup of tea. He is not me... (mommy mistake number 200000000000000)

Deferred, but changing from EDII to RD

Dear Ashnazg, Why are you asking to be considered in the RD pool instead of EDII?

Well since the whole deferment thing I've done a lot of thinking, as well as examining other schools, and while Wesleyan remains at the top of my list, it's hard for me to full-heartily apply early decision when, well, it isn't that ultimate ultimate school for me.

Also, after hearing some financial aid horror stories from friends who did get accepted to various other schools early, I'm really scared to take the risk again (I am in desperate need of aid).

I still love Wesleyan :). I think it's all in perspective a bit more now, though.

Dear Ashnazag, I am impressed by your analysis of the situation and your maturity. Good Luck to you

I've applied RD, and I'm curious does Wesleyan do likely letters? Or likely emails?

No, Wesleyan unfortunately does not send out likely letters, but you should keep your fingers and not lose hope. :(

Hi, Got in ED 1

meadesport - dude, that's amazing. Congratulations!

Yeah, congrats, Meadesport! If there's anything you wanna know about Wesleyan, let me know! :)

Meadesport -- go Wes lacrosse! Congrats.
