My chosen essay was about how I give numbers personalities and how that interferes with my math ability (it was quirky but I bet they loved it).

<p>last year 1500 students were waitlisted, 800 of them kept the wait list spot and 25 of them got in.</p>
<p>My SATI wasn't that good, below 2000, but as a Chinese student, the extracurricular activities are a standout. Student Youth League president, Prof. Higgins in school year play "My Fair Lady", organized a performance to raise money for the tsunami hitted areas. Essay wasn't quite formal, like a short story but truly shocking and it's my own experience about Chinese education system. Ref is great cos the year play make every one know me in school. Well, half is the luck. Still deciding NYU's General study program, first year in Florence, and Emory. But now is 90% to Emory. I gonna take Psychology as major, hope to double major in Psy and Theater. Anyone also gonna go there?</p>

<p>I agree. My D's friend got waitlisted at Emory but got accepted at Stanford, Rice, and Notre Dame.</p>
<p>I don't think I was overqualified at all, but didn't show interest. That can also be a killer. I was accepted to Cornell, UVA, and got a huge scholarship to Hopkins... I guess it goes to show that showing interest by visiting the campus, etc. will really save your butt!</p>
