Official Emory EDII Class of 2020 Discussion

Accepted main campus, pleasantly surprised because I had a bit of a fiasco with the ED agreement but I guess it all worked out in the end

any good news?

any good news?

Should we start posting stats?

my application got moved to regular pool because of the early decision agreement and I for sure did sign it turned it in. How did you solve your problem?

If you have the signature of your counselor, parent, and you AND you’re 100% you turned it in on time, contact them. In my case, there was an issue with the Naviance program that the decision was electronically submitted through and it prevented my counselor’s signature from registering so I couldn’t make my ED 1 original plan, but they wouldn’t hold it against me for round 2. The second time, I faxed in a copy as well as completing it electronically and followed up after a day to make sure it made it in. If you followed their rules and you are certain everyone signed and submitted, ask them what you can do. Best case they review your app quickly, but it’s more likely you get deferred but they don’t hold it against you.

You guys should start a decisions results thread. I’m sure it would help RD, and future applicants (like me wink wink nudge nudge) :^))

accepted to both Emory and Oxford!!!

@ochsss Congrats!!! Would you mind posing your stats so I can have a picture of the competitiveness of this year’s applicant pool

@Balbina : CC users are often on the upperechelon of the distribution stats wise. Emory has been flat in terms of change in incoming stats. I would just know that apparently the average admit between all rounds has about 1430/1600 apparently meaning that RD and ED2 may aim for those with higher stats. Enrollees typically have 1360-1370/1600 meaning that those higher scoring candidates they aim for during RD round are a reach/risk for the adcoms. Anything above 1350/1600 with solid EC’s and solid essays will give you as good a shot as anyone else usually, but for RD having 1400+ is certainly helpful.

Sorry for being so late to this … but
4.28 GPA
2270 SAT
Accepted, but could not afford to attend.
I’m going for state schools now! Congratulations to anyone who is attending!
