Strengths: Good standardized testing and thought I wrote a great supplement with really good recs. Made sure to make myself stand out and introduce myself to admissions officers when I went to visit.
Weaknesses: I guess GPA. It was above average for Emory in the scope of my school but fairly weak on paper. I also was slightly worried that maybe I didn’t have very good EC’s
Why you think you were accepted/deferred/rejected: I feel that I’m pretty well rounded and had the grades, scores, and essays to get in.
Where else you are applying or have already applied: Fordham (Accepted) and UNC.
General Comments/Advice/Hindsight: My school accepts a lot of kids from Emory so I had a really good feeling from the start!</p>

<p>General Comments: AHHHHHH i’m so excited and a little surprised!!! This really does prove that they do look past numbers, because my GPA (3.6) is under their 25% percentile lol. <p>@kac622‌ HAHAHA thanks it was actually the prompt about a class…I said that there should be a class called Twerking 101 because twerking is derived from a real, cultural dance in Africa and twerking in America, like the kind Miley created, is a form of cultural appropriation and I wrote about how the class would teach students about cultural appropriation…hard to explain but you can read the essay if you want! :slight_smile: so happy that you’ll be one of my classmates next year. </p>
