No, I didn't apply ED or ESP Semifinalist, but I guess they just sent me an early acceptance anyways (like jan 15?) before the Regular decision pool.

that's so weird, so you just applied regular decision, and you did not apply to the emory scholars program, but you got in?

nonono .. haha sorry bad writing on my part

I applied for ESP (international) but I didn't apply ED. I wasn't chosen as a semifinalist, but after I found that out by email, I got an acceptance letter in the mail a couple of days later saying that I had been admitted to the school.

So, I guess I'm really happy about that.. but its pretty pointless because my counselor told me that he had made it VERY clear in my rec that I couldn't afford to pay the 45k since I wouldn't be gettin finaid unless my green card came .. shrug*

oh i undestand now, but that stinks.

[li] Why I think I was selected/rejected: My scores are relatively low, leadership activites generic (there's only so much available as a transfer), etc., and everything else not quite enough to act as a tip factor.
[/li]

[li] Other thoughts: Would any semifinalists mind looking over my essays (Why Emory and the CA essay) and also sharing theirs? I haven't had much luck with GTech or FF either (got UGA1 but no interview) and I'm starting to wonder if there isn't some real issue with my essays e.g. too distant from area of study, or otherwise disconnected.
[/li]

i had a message on my opus appoligizing for the delay, (when i switched my application to early decision II, they "lost" my scholars stuff), i'm a semi-finalist!! my stats are all over this forum!, but compared to everyone here, there's no way i'll be a finalist
