I wanted to headdesk* when I saw the FRQs. All this year my AP teacher basically prepped us for causes of world wars essays and head of state comparisons. My essay for prompt 7 just used everything I knew about Freud & Darwin from English and Biology. :P

^Yeah, ikr. Same as you, except instead I completely BSed that essay about Freud and Darwin.

My groups for the DBQ
people dislike of militaristic attitude of Weimar republic (a lot of them talked about war and how the weimar republic was really militaristic rather than a democracy)
Nazi’s purposefully turning ppl against weimar republic (a lot of documents talking about how to convert ppl, and that they were goiong to enter into the Reichstag to hurt Weimar republic, etc)
Weimar republic unfit to rule (alot of documents said that they didn’t know what they want)

I used 9 out of 11 documents and discussed bias in all of them. What do you guys think?

I don’t see how you got “militaristic attitude” of the WR. Which documents showed that?

I didn’t think the MC was too bad, except for that awful WWI technology question that my class has been arguing about since the test. Every answer could be argued as correct! Also, my friends and I were obsessed with Gustavas Adolphus, but we were so disapointed with that question on him!

As for the DBQ, my groups were pretty different than most of the ones I’ve seen here. I split it up into four different causes: the Versailles agreement (which we always talked about as the #1 failure of the Weimar Republic), the economic collapse, the lack of strong leadership/the competing political powers, and the rise of the National Socialist Party. I had my points of bias, but I’m just worried that the AP readers won’t necessarily interpret them as points of bias. However, I’ve heard that they want to give you points, so hopefully those came through. Also, I used every single document. I think I got anywhere from a 7 to a 9 on that essay.

I wrote on #3 and #7. For #3, I had two body paragraphs on Luther and Calvin. I argued that Luther needed the power of the state to help him get his points to the people (Frederick of Saxony, the peasant revolts, etc.), so he supported church and state working together. As for Calvin, I mostly had to guess. I argued that he was very pro-separation of church and state. Then, I looked it up after the test and actually ended up being right (!!!) Just luck, there. I think I scored anywhere from a 5 to a 7 on that one. As for #7, I argued Darwin’s theory of evolution and survival of the fittest, including Social Darwinism which inspired European imperialism in Africa as well as Hitler’s Holocaust. Everything I knew about Freud came from being Monica Breedlove in BAD SEED this fall, though. However, I had huge monologues about Freud, most of which I remembered. I argued that Freud believed that actions were motivated by sexual feelings, along with the stuff about incestual feelings. I probably scored between a 4 and a 6 on that one.

The FRQs were pretty weird, though, and I was very surprised about the lack of major topics covered throughout the test. Both of the World Wars, especially WWII, which we covered so much, were barely even mentioned. After the MC, I was totally expecting the DBQ, or at least one FRQ to be on WWII but was painfully mistaken.

Overall, though, the test wasn’t as bad as I thought (especially the easy DBQ) it was going to be. I definitely passed, and I’m hoping for a 4.

A few of them did actually. (docs discussing militarizing)

For my DBQ, I had “difference in ideology” as one paragraph, which I then broke down into “socialists wanting to take over” and “to militarize or not debate” (I don’t remember the Weimar Rep. wanting to militarize or doing it, not were there any pro-militarizing docs., but since their were plenty of anti-militarizing I just assumed there was a debate over it) and finally a paragraph on things that would have directed to citizen unhappiness and thus instability, for example, economic situation, rapid liberalization (I used the doc. about the women in parliament) and one about a citizen complaining about how the Weimar Rep. was not unified under any ideology or believed in anything.

It might sound a bit weird or awkward here, but I think it was an 8 or 9, unless I managed to miss one of the core points somehow, which I doubt considering I used all the docs., all seemed straightforward, used four groups, more than the necessary three, and did have a thesis. Did bias for 4 or 5.

I did 4 and 7 for the FRQs.

7 was decent. I used Darwin for religion, Freud for human behavior and both for morals, and I organized quite nicely too. I think I made some good connections and had a decent amount of points, but it wasn’t particularly special. I’m thinking a 5 or 6.

My 4 was a bit BSed, but I did have a good point here and there. I’m thinking a 3.

I found the MCs easy too. I only skipped 2. I found it easier than the two lasts practice test I took, on which I both score the same thing (57 right, 18 wrong, 5 skipped, which is a 52.5/9).

Overall, I think I am looking at a solid 4 (what I was aiming for), and might have even gotten a 5.

Wolverines, I believe the answer to the MCQ you’re referring to was fairly obvious.

What were some mc questions that were tough?

hm, i said that calvin wanted the church to act like a state would…disciplining its members for not obeying the bible and just kind of overall sucking the fun out of everything–that he would approve of the state playing an active role in reinforcing god’s laws. i wonder if i would get any points for that since you’re right, wolverines, he did want separation of church and state. darn it. i also talked about how the huguenots were not especially violent, like the anabaptists who took over munster were, even though they were persecuted during the french wars of religion etc. and nothing in their theology was particularly anti-state although it was certainly anti-catholic. although that part about the huguenots i kind of made up.

I don’t think were allowed to say anything about specific MC questions.

@31459265 -3 documents. They specifically said either miltaristic or war.
Oh, break over…back to studying for AP Bio :/

Was it Radio or Airplanes?

what were the other choices lol, i dont think i put either radios or airplanes

Idk the other ones. The 2 most likely choices to me were Radio and Airplanes. :(

i think i put nuclear, im not sure if that was the answer to the mcq or practice questions lol

It was railroads, correct? I believe during the Crimean War it was used.

Dude, Wolverines, in 7 I wrote about how Calvin wanted a theocracy led by the elite (the one’s that were destined for salvation) and said that he wanted to merge church and state. nooo. But I seriously remember learning that in like World History II last year. darnit.

I definitely effed up essay number 3. Did anybody write a particularly good essay about that and were confident that they were perfectly accurate and answered the question?

I said airplanes. They definitely used railroads and radio.

I did 4 and 7.

For 4, I really effed up on it and b.s.-ed it. I wrote about colonialism in the Americas, Oriental, India, Africa (all different explorers) and the effect on the new resources on the economy. And eff, I forgot the slave trade!

For 7, I completely rocked it as I had a presentation just about that. I had Darwin- religion, Darwin- morality (social darwinism/imperialism) didn’t talk about Holocaust as that wasn’t up to 1850, then I did Freud on behavior which I completely murdered!

DBQ, I had two groups, the second one which I divided into two. I had instability caused by the economy, and by political opposition, which I divided into political parties (Communist and Nazis) and outside influences (Free Corps Unit, Past Chancellor) and how they opposed the claims and policies of the Weimar (that’s how I used more documents that were pro-weimar.)

About the DBQ, does that seem ok to anyone what I did?
