Well... I think it was my personality. The moment I started at Georgetown every student told me that I belong at UChicago, so I was just myself in the applications.

lol well that's good so i take it your a bit eccentric and very interested in academics like myself...hope that'll work for me. :)

I suppose so. I dun good!

Also as a community college student...I got into Smith and the University of Southern California for the Fall of 06 starting as a sophomore (not junior transfer) :)

Congratulations awin422! Smith is great. If I were female, I would go there.

I got a gauranteed transfer from Cornell and was really suprised. It was my last application on a night of disappointing answers (why do the great schools all give you an answer on the same day?) I had opened the mail ones and had to wait a ton of hours for my mom to get home for me to look at the online responses. I was SOOOO HAPPY!!!! I bought a t-shirt, sweatshirt, and bumper stickers the next day LOL.

Npeds are you leaving Gtown?

Nope, I am staying put.

how does the guaranteed transfer work? did you go to SUNY, or do you go to some other college? I guess I should ask, what college do you go to? Do they send those to all kinds of applicants, or just SUNY?

went to prep school, double legacy at yale, rejected all ivies i applied to and wait-listed a bunch of other places, went to an excellent liberal arts college for a year and worked really hard, then got into harvard and dartmouth (didnt apply to yale again, i dont like gothic architecture). things werent ever that bad, but i was really happy with my choices.

I got into UCLA with an 1860 SAT, 630, 680 subject tests..

And surprisingly enough, the only school that limited all my essays by line and character, columbia, waitlisted me. I am currently in round 2 of the waitlist and while I doubt anybody will get off the WL, I am just glad I got to round too with the stats I had.

cuz i find it highly efligint in edumacationism...fo' muh brain...cuz i am smart boy

Definitely! Ignignokt Mooninite is on my facebook friend-list!

nspeds you got into chicago and didn't go?! may i ask why? I haven't been there yet, so I'd like to know what changed your mind to keep you at Georgetown.

Well, it would be my second time transferring, so it does not look good for professional or graduate schools. The grading system at Chicago is also harsh, so I could not risk lowering my GPA in order to fulfill some intellectual thirst. Schools like Harvard Law School and above are not generous to applicants who apply with less than a 3.8, and a 3.8 is very difficult to earn at UChicago.
