*OFFICIAL* Fall 2010 Haas Transfer Thread

I got admitted to haas! Suuupppppeeerrr stoked!

post stats!!! for ppl like me who will be applying next semester.

I got into haas as well. Can’t wait the beginning of fall 2010!!

Anyone knows when classes begin? Anyone going from LA? :)

Accepted to Haas! :)

this is stupid but i havent decided yet if im going to haas. i’m still waiting in usc/marshall bc i would rather live and work in LA/soCal. but the only way i can go to usc is if they give me a substantial financial aid package (like, a full ride lol)

anyway i was looking at the degree requirements from haas and i think we need to take some american history, institution, and cultures courses at berkeley (?)

[Degree Requirements, Undergraduate Program - Haas School of Business, UC Berkeley](<a href=“Degree Requirements - Undergraduate Program - Berkeley Haas”>Degree Requirements - Undergraduate Program - Berkeley Haas)

…according to the pdf file for the 2010 transfers…do u guys know if we can satisfy those courses with ccc classes?

Damn, I thought I was done with history!

wow, i got really really lucky…it just so happens a random course i took to meet the history requirement for haas also meets the american cultures requirement lol, it’s one of only 3 classes that meet it at my cc, and thankfully i can meet the american history and institutions requirements through ap scores :]

^where did u check to see which courses satisfy those requirements (assist?)? also, if eligible courses r used to satisfy the breadth requirements, can we use the same ones to satisfy those 3 american courses?

yep, i followed a few links around to get more info and found that breadth classes can also be used to meet those requirements, and yea, you use assist to check to see if cc courses are pre-approved, for major you put information-

dammit i wish i would have look at this curriculum a few months ago. i thot i finished everything so i only took 12 units just to get health insurance and a discount on car insurance…i could have taken those courses. o well

I’m also waiting for USC Marshall! I would strongly consider Marshall over Haas if they give me a good financial aid package. I’ve visited USCs campus and I really like it, everyones really friendly and I could really sense the strong school spirit. I haven’t been to Berkeley’s campus yet. My family and friends all assume I’m going to Haas, I wonder what their reactions would be if I told them I will be attending USC instead, haha.

^that’s exactly the same situation i’m in. hopefully i get a full ride!!! or pay like very little lol. i only have to pay $12-15k for haas, so if USC costs me like $5k or less, i’ll prolly go to marshall

hmm…so in the welcome packet where it advertises a few summer courses it lists intro to financial accounting and managerial accounting as self-paced online classes…anyone else thinking of doing these over summer? i have to admit, i really like the sound of self-paced lol

^if i get financial aid i might  prolly not though. i think we have to submit something by may 15th to get FA for summer, which i read somewhere. yes i know, that was some very helpful info

Do you know when USC Marshall decisions come out? I heard its like late May-June 1. Are you gonna SIR to berkeley first?

the only people that heard back from USC were viterbi students i think. did u get a status update? mine still says it’s being “sent for review or something blah blah…june 1st.” i will get an SGR though since i didnt finish calc 1 yet. so i might not even hear back from usc until mid july. but for u. u should hear back very soon, i’d say 1-2 weeks.

im gonna SIR to berkeley in a wk or two, after i know exactly how much i would have to pay. unless USC surprises me and gives me a conditional acceptance instead of a SGR and also gives me a full ride within the next wk lol. then i won’t bother paying $100 for the SIR to berkeley

Yeah my status is the same as yours. For some reason I’m alot more anxious about USC decisions than I was about Haas…

@ lomkh

i’m thinking of taking financial acctg this summer…money is not an issue, i can reimburse it from work (while i’m still employed!). time is what i might not have :frowning: a lot of things to take care of this summer, esp. with the conditions (long list). it would be nice to have 1 less course to take later though. also, it’s a pre-requisite for other courses so it will be less waiting if fin. acctg. is out of the way.

yea, time is the big concern…i wonder just how much leeway does self-paced give, i guess i’ll just have to look it up later
