i don’t know about u guys, but i didn’t work hard to get into haas to end up taking some online courses. i’d rather take a regular course. unless of course, this online acct course isn’t curved like the regular one

while that would normally be true for me, i really don’t care much for accounting lol, i’ve taken an accounting class before and had an accounting internship…it’s not the kind of subject material i’d want to cover in a classroom haha, but it’s possible that someone who has taken it before may change my mind

I heard some other people saying Cal does not like to accept their undergrads into their graduate programs. What are everyone’s thoughts on this? Does it hold any weight?

Yunie mentioned it so I figured its at least true for her major. What about Haas?

@ gsilas someone asked that question on Cal Day at Haas during an orientation seminar and they denied this claim.

i’d rather go to stanford or harvard anyway for MBA

@iHateCeltics

Gah, I don’t even want to think of all the work to go to one of those schools. Stanford would be cool…How much harder is it to get into private/ivy league? I didn’t even apply to any private schools for undergrad cause I figured a B I got would have stopped me from getting into them, lol.

It’s not really impossible.

do you guys know what are the “required Haas documents” we have to turn in by June 18??

@makelo If you go to myChecklist and look on the list it states:

Due Jun 18
Haas Policy Statement and New Student Directory
Submit the Haas Policy Statement, New Student Directory and passport photos by this deadline. CalNet authentication is required.

However, I can’t seem to access the page to do it. It either logs me out or gives me some kind of error message. I’d just wait a little bit since it might not be ready yet. It’s early right now anyways so you have time. ^^

^ The same thing happens to me that’s why I was asking. Thank u! now I know I’m not alone haha

out of curiosity, is anyone else planning on double majoring with economics?

oh, also, is anyone else in the cohort Sproul? i know we get a list of everyone’s names and email addresses in summer, but was just curious if i ended up in the same cohort as anyone else on here :]

@lomkh

i’ll be at sproul as well.

double major/econ sounds good. i guess i’ll see how the 1st semester goes first.

Hey guys! I am so happy to find this thread! I’m admitted to Haas for fall 2010 and have been looking for people like me. (most of my friends applied for econ)

@iHateCeltics and more of you, I’ve been thinking about Marshall too! I really want to experience living in LA and with their scholarships (I am OOS student so the tuition of Cal is like USC for me, USC could be cheaper if they offer me scholarships!) …I really don’t know which one to choose!
But my parents really want me to go to Haas, for its worldwide great reputation and the opportunities. So I think there is a great chance that I am going to Haas.

Is anyone planning on taking some summer courses?
anyone going to the transfer fair on May 15th?
and housing? I am thinking about Channing-Bowditch, what about you guys? :)

@amypoth awesome! we’ll totally beat the other cohorts in whatever competitions they have in store for us! lol (albeit probably not due to me…i know nothing XD)

@eva i’m not sure yet, i’m probably going to take a math course over summer at a cc to articulate to math 53 at cal to take econ101A and i might take the online financial accounting and managerial accounting classes through berkeley extension…i haven’t decided yet, and there’s a good chance i’ll go to the fair, i don’t really have anything better to do (after dropping a bunch of courses i didn’t need i now only have a 2 hour class on fridays lol) for housing i was thinking of wada…i would like channing-bowditch better but i don’t want a 12 month lease…i’d rather spend next summer working as an intern somewhere

i haven’t decided on housing yet. did u guys submit ur SIR yet?

yeah, i submitted my SIR, it was between haas or econ at la lol, or another year at cc XD i wish i had applied to more places now…but i honestly didn’t think i would get in haha

Hey lomkh do you know in which cohort are you in already?

Edit: sorry didn’t read your post

Sproul!!! how about you?
