No worries. I am drafting a letter of appeal right now and hoping to transfer for in for Spring. If not, then I will have to keep up my work and try for next fall. I am aware of the 60 hours in residence, but honestly - it’s not a problem for me. I just want to be able to take the courses I am looking forward to taking and meet the professors that I admire.

you do realize that most of these professors you admire are probably very research oriented…

Meaning? Yes I am aware of that. Anthropology in general is extremely research oriented…

aridnepenthe - I would take some classes at UH or another university. At least there you could get a degree (from a university). Then you could go to UT for grad school like sundoll said. But overall, keep up the hard work. Wish you all the best and hope you get in soon.

Btw, UT’s financial aid sucks. All loans lol. At least I got a $1500 grant at A&M. xD Oh well, doesn’t matter. Looking forward to the 6/28 orientation!

Lol Xcell, they didn’t give me nothing but loans too. See you 6/28.

x has his parents paying, so he wont actually have to take the loans.

in
3.75–2 letters of rec. COLA BS psych

So who is going to the 6/28 orientation? Maybe we can all meet up somehow. It would be nice to know some fellow transfers.

Congrats! Thaisteak

Congrats Thai!

Xcellerator and DenuMx what were your efc(s)? I got accepted 2 weeks ago and I still haven’t got my financial aid package

Congratulations, Thai!

longhornhopeful7 - My EFC was like 16k. Got my fin aid package the day after I accepted/payed enrollment fee as well as registered for Orientation. Have you paid your enrollment fee yet? If not, that’s a possible reason why.

16k lol thats excessively high.

Not really compared to where I live lol. A lot of my friends have EFC’s over 20k. D:

Man i just got in BS Comp Sci…

My efc was 3000 and i feel like fin aid is barely helping me…

Whew! Thanks that makes me feel a lot better. My efc is literally so low you would think I’m poor but I’ve got a unique situation going on that just makes it exceptionally low. I have technically paid for my enrollment fee because it got waivered since my efc was so low. I’ll let everyone know what I got when they notify me.

Don’t get too hopeful yet - I have an EFC of 0 and only got 1500 total for the upcoming year in UT grants. But maybe that’s a COLA problem, though, and it will differ by college? I’m all Pell and loans - since I’m maxed on those for each year I’m actually about 2 grand short on my estimated living expenses for each semester. Sucks that my first semester to apply for scholarships I didn’t have a UT GPA, but maybe I’ll get lucky and get a small one or two in the next couple of weeks…

^I’m sorry you didn’t get as much as you needed!

Looks like UT has cut the amount of fin aid they give out. If you have a EFC of 0 you should be getting 6,400 per semester so 12,800 for a year. Maybe UT has cut some grants or something, I dunno?

Well you can get the max from the Federal funds, they are obligated to give that (that’s the 12800 max you’re talking about). But to cover above and beyond that for books and living expenses, they don’t give out too much.

Where is everyone planning to live next year? On campus or off-campus private dorms? I’m looking into Dobie but still not convinced
help, transfers?
and thanks to everyone that congratulated me :)
