Hurry up UT, this wait is driving me crazy. Even a rejection would be relieving! My apartment lease ends in may and I need to know if I will be living in Austin or not!

Which college did you apply to? I think COLA and NS will hear back next week

Hey fellow transfers, I am in need of advice.

I applied to COLA with a 3.2 and 27 hours, but since then I have now earned 30 hours and I have a 3.4

Should I go ahead and send in my updated transcript, or should I wait until after the entire Spring semester?

I am worried that the longer I wait, the more competitive it will be.

What are my chances with a 3.4, ANTH major, female, first gen. Guyanese-American, two LOR’s, 6 page resume, and the optional essay?

i think if you have a 3.5 and some decent/good essays you could probably get in, where as if you had a 3.7 and weak essays you would probably get in

just wondering why are you going to community college in California if your from texas?

you probably should just wait 2 send your transcript, unless you dont think it will be above a 3.4 at the end of spring semester

and as far as what are your chances, i really think that your GPA is the main thing that will get you in, but who knows the 6page resume / essay might help

but im pretty sure you need something like 3.5 and up to really have a shot

Does anyone know about the College of Fine Arts and when we’d find out for that? Applied as a theatre major

@pierrechn - I go to Houston Community College…
I am not sure my GPA will be that great after this semester. I am taking 27 hours, but I am not doing so well in Finite Math, and it will probably destroy my GPA

well in that case you should send in your transcript , just make sure you have good essays

Would you like to read them and tell me what you think? I can email them to you

i liked the essays, send them to @Vailsmom and @MaineLonghorn they are older so they can probably give you a better perspective of what an admissions counselor might think

Thank you! I appreciate all your help with this. UT is my first choice university and I don’t wanna settle for anything else :)

found out through a friend that her friend who’s transferring from Tech found out today that she was accepted. I think she was applying for COLA.

I was accepted today too! :)

Congratulations!!!

What were your applicant stats?
GPA, major, optional essay, any letters of rec??
I’m trying to transfer from HCC

I was too accepted to COLA today yay!!!
my stats were 3.7 gpa with no community service but 4 yrs in the navy. i wrote only the 2 mandatory essays, my majors were history and spanish and i had 45 credits. i also had 2 letters of rec. i still cant believe i got in wooooohoooo!

Wow congratulations!!! I hope my luck is as good as yours!!!

Hip Hip Hooray for all accepted!! Congrats!

Congrats, parrag86!

I was waitlisted and I also applied as a transfer student (they said I was the first to be in such a situation.)

I just checked my UTEID page and found out I was admitted into McCombs, my first choice! Needless to say, I’m SO relieved. I had my heart set on UT forever and now my dreams have come true.

Just a quick question: even though age-wise I’m a freshman, I have enough credits to almost be a junior. Are there any things I’ll miss out on not having a “freshman” status (ie orientations, special events, etc?) I’d like to still “feel” like a freshman since I’ll be brand new.

Even if I do miss out on special freshman events, I’ll be fine. Just getting into UT is enough for me!!

You will miss summer “freshman orientation.” That’s about it. Congratulations on your admission to McCombs!!!

Congratz jfeathe! I’m in a similar situation…I did dual credits throughout highschool and graduated last december with 58 credits…I applied to the engineering school (chemE)…I have a 4.0, but this waiting is killing me! I hope engineering transfers will know soon! I’m getting excited that other people are getting accepted! :D. Not too much longer!! :D
