^
Why didn’t you apply for a tag? Otherwise, 90+ percent in.

If you had a tag, you wouldn’t be needing this thread anyways.

@kjeon

Nice gpa. I think your ECs are relatively poor because they aren’t business related. You should’ve joined a club at school. Your Mom and Dad having never graduated from college will be beneficial to you. I think you are 7/10 in for Haas.

Directly from the Haas website:

“Myth: Students must get an internship or join a business fraternity/club prior to applying to Haas.
Truth: The admission committee is looking for leadership potential in extra curricular activities and does not give certain activities more weight in the review process. Students should participate in what they enjoy (on-campus clubs, volunteer experience, work experience, religious activities, etc.)”

I don’t think my ECs are such a disadvantage. I know that my ECs aren’t the strongest, but “poor” is not the word I would use. I’ve risen to leadership positions in both of my jobs, which is what the admissions committee is looking for.

I didn’t apply for a TAG because Berkeley does not have such a program. As for Davis, I wasn’t planning on applying there. I really want to make it into Haas, but I know it’s really competitive. I decided to apply to Davis as a backup when I was filling out the UC application.

Hopefully, it doesn’t come back to bite me in the ass. hahaha

Greetings all, since I am in the running and have benefited substantially reading through the forums and it only felt right to post and get a little feedback. Many thanks in advance for your notes and thoughts.

@mino
should be in everywhere not really familar with your major but 3.6 is high enough and good e.c so i don’t see a problem

@kjeon I correct myself, I shouldn’t have said “business-related.” However, working full time in retail while not going to school, then working at a roller rink seem so
uninspired. There are people who work in hedge funds and student body presidents. Maybe my expectations are too high.

i posted before but I think my stats were incorrect. can someone chance my updated info? thanks!!

@janet

For UCLA i would say you have VERY little shot 3.7 was average admit gpa last year for history. Average GPA applied was 3.37 so it will be extremely difficult

UCSB hmm a lot more likely 3.14 average transfer gpa you best shot is here 60% chance your in i say

3rd time around

Major: Applied Math @ UCB, Econ @Davis, Math/Econ @ LA, Econ @ SJSU

Prereqs: done
IGETC: complete by spring
TAG/TAP: none
ECs:
Essay: 8/10ish

any decent chance i can get into uci?

@izy
You should be fine for David and SJSU

UCLA was 3.86 admit last year and UCB is always a crap shoot 40% chance for those i would say.

@aznmouse

0 shot at UCI sorry, IIRC on one of the web videos it said you need a near 4.0 for Business Admin this year only 15 slots available for transfer.

You should be in at UCR/UCSB though

^
Basis of your words please. Thanks.

google profile of ucla transfer

first link it list admission of last year by major. UCB is unpredictable anyone with 3.6 got a shot except for Haas and like engineering

So you mean, it’s the GPA, not my EC’s or whatsoever that somehow reduces my chance of getting in?
