*Official Fall 2010 UC Transfer CHANCE thread*

@ smileyo: I like your style lol. I’m just curious, what do you mean by luck? You say that luck has alot to do with it. Do you mean to say that the subjective appeal of EC’s/volunteerism/essays is the luck factor?

@ uc_bio: IN at UCD and UCSD.

UCLA is a slight reach.

haha i do what i can ^^

^^ You’re clutch, jordan.

i’m nothing without my boy RODMAN

Major: business econ
UC GPA: 3.42ish
Applying to: ucsb(econmics and accounting) and uci
Prereqs: ucsb is done and uci i need the last 2 math class. i got a 4 on ap for macroecon
IGETC: will be done by spring.
ECs: part time job. (dont know if that counts)
Essay: pretty decent essay
Other: i had 14 units from csuf then i went to cc.

can someone tell me what is the chance ill get into ucsb i really want to go there.

i think you got a 8/10 chance getting into sb and a 5/10 for uci

@ aznmouse: Sort of a random place to inject a chance post lol, but I’ll chance ya anyways.

I would say you’re in at UCSB but not at UCI.

Isn’t business at UCI like incredibly impacted? I thought that’s what I heard. Correct me if I’m wrong though.

I think your GPA and the fact that you have your prereqs done makes you solid for UCSB. It’s UCI and those 2 missing math classes that make you a long shot there.

Best of luck!

i think hes applying for business econ for uci (not that impacted) maybe you’re thinking of business admin? i think those math courses are gonna hurt him though

Ahh my bad Jordan. lol again, CLUTCH! I was thinking biz admin. In that case, 65% for UCI.

oh but ill just be missing one math class by the end of spring for uci. will that help haha?

Hmmmm maybe a tad. How’s your grade trend? Recent coursework is the most relevant. Good grades last semester??

if ur missing calc 3 i think ur fine. my gf is an econ major (who isnt? LOL) and i think she said they recently added the calc 3 prereq. i think she said they arent really THAT selective on missing calc 3 but i forgot. gl man!

Major: Computer Science
UC GPA: 3.26
Applying to: UCI & UCSD
Prereqs: Spring '10
IGETC: Summer '10
ECs: Very good
TAG: No
Essay: Very good
Other: Low income student idk if that makes a difference?

what do you guys think? I really want to go to UCI and the wait is killing me!

im taking calc 3 now. im missing linear algebra.

aznmouse i think thats a wasted class that your taking now.

Due to the fact that Calc+Linear Algebra makes up for Math for Economist at UCI and you need both classes so if your unable to take both i don’t think it’ll transfer over and you would have to take the class there anyways.

I think your in

Did you tag?

no i didnt tag :(. hopefully i can take over summer if i get accepted.

You might be able to but you’ll be busy looking for a place to live move get F.A and all that mumbo jumbo =(

How did you do in Calc1/2 and Econ 1/2?

calc1-A calc2-C macroecon-ap test microecon-B

stats-A accounting1-b accounting2-A. does that make a difference D:?

you don’t need accounting or stats for business econ at irvine =P

But ya i think you should be fine 90% in i would say

Above average GPA and all pre-req completed

Got java and c++ done?
