oh no i forgot about that… i should take in summer?? :(

probably won’t need to just take the one at UCI it’s a 4 unit intro class anyways probably easier than c++ and java which at my school is an advance co sci class

i wanted to do business administration so i put that on my secondary major. business econ is #1. if i cant get into uci ill be happy with ucsb

@ saad.ahmad: I’d say you have a good shot at UCI; they put emphasis on the personal statements and if yours are “very good,” you should be in good shape.

Just curious, why do you prefer UCI over UCSD?

@emilsinclair9 and @mikei thanks alot guys, means alot. I think I will visit - I have to, and what my anthro instructor is offering sounds very enticing. I really want to see the campus for myself as well. Ya mikei - I live in Santa Clarita, so around where you live, I have the same trip time. Maybe I’ll sleep in my car one night just to make it happen :D

Ya good thing you didn’t have Business admin as your 1st.

It’s killer this year probably harder to get into than Haas

@Oliver_Twist I actually prefer UCI over UCSD because I live really close to UCI and it would just be more convenient, plus its a great school, beautiful campus and what not…

@ solidblu: Sleep in your car ehh? Now you’re thinking Berkeley style ;p.

Please help me out. I’d really appriciate it.

Without counting winter 2010 grades and spring 2010 grades…

Major: Political Science (I have alternative majors selected)
UC GPA: 3.16

First choice: UCSB

Forth and fifth: UCI, UCD

I retook a class that I took as a junior in HS this past winter and received a B. The class was four units so my GPA is now above a 3.2. I updated them well before the deadline (Jan 31) and updated them with my winter grade as soon as I could (Feb 10).

What are my chances for these schools.

Thank you!

@emilsinclair haha I know right!

@knightmight

Don’t worry buddy. I think you will get into your top choice and most likely UCSD.

Hey thanks!

Don’t be so modest emilsinclair9, I’ve seen your stats. You’re definitely in at one of those top two schools.

Santa Monica transfer student. 2.7 GPA.
UC Irvine: Asian American studies / Korean culture
UC Riverside: Asian American studies
UCLA: linguistic psychology
UC Santa Barbara: Asian American studies / linguistics
i speak fluent
English, Spanish, Korean, french, and Japanese.
which i put on my personal statement.

please chance me
thank you for your time!

I hope you begged the adcoms in all the languages you know because an application with that GPA, and no compelling excuse (as in I’m dying, or I watched someone die) is a throw away. Why did you not apply to cal states?

@emilsinclair9 way a long shot at UCLA and CAL?

@ alex: Well Communications at UCLA and Media Studies at UCB are heavily impacted. In fact, at UCLA, I believe Communications is the most exclusive major. Check UCLA’s Profile of Admitted Students. The average GPA admitted is like a 3.9. Berkeley’s Media Studies (I think) is about the same, so that’s why you’re a bit of a long shot. Also, you only mentioned one EC.

@ lintij: Thanks! haha I appreciate it. I really want UCB though.
