Official Fall 2011 Dartmouth Transfer Thread

So, who else will be applying?

How could I not apply? (No supplement required!)

I wish more schools would be like Dartmouth.

I will be as well. I’m surprised more transfer threads for specific schools haven’t popped up yet. I’m guessing everyone is still trying to finish up those apps. good luck all!

I can’t think of a school (besides Princeton and Stanford) that I’d rather attend.

Does anyone know , on average, how many transfer students Dartmouth takes?

Yea I think they take only a few, because looking at threads from previous years, some years no one on CC has gotten in.

Really @smithsonian2011? That’s an encouraging thought for a hopeful at a city college… I do have a letter form someone raised a lot of money for them, though. Does anyone have any rough idea of how much this sort of thing would affect my odds of acceptance?

Last year, they accepted 25 of the 673 applicants. Good luck everyone!

its getting around that time!!

anyone know the date decisions may come out?

best of luck everybody :D

don’t decisions come out at the end of this month?

yep, i checked on the website. it says “Late April”

i love their ambiguity…why not specify a date hahaha

i know i’m being paranoid but isnt late april kinda like april 20-30 range?

OR if there is someone who transferred last year, what date ~ did you get your letter?

thanks for the responses.

[Admissions Statistics](http://www.dartmouth.edu/admissions/facts/admissions.html)

Received an e-mail today telling me when they will be posting decisions online. Cal and Dartmouth next week, I picked a bad time to stop sniffing glue.

Got the email too! Butterflies in my stomach till then…

^Is it me or did we not have to choose a major? I looked and looked on my Common Application and there was nothing about a desired major.

I got an email today that said that decisions were coming out April 27 or you can call on the 28th or after for a decision

im a dartmouth student and have a few friends who work for admissions. they said transfer admissions were coming out around the 28th, so the above poster sounds about right

I also got the same email. Starting to dread that day now.

Rejected by MIT. Waiting for Dartmouth’s decision.

^Sorry to hear that.

I asked this earlier but no one answered: Do you guys remember having to chose a major on the Common Application? I’ve looked and looked and I don’t remember there being a place to choose an intended major.
