<p>HS GPA: 3.96/4.00 unweighted
5.07/4.00 weighted
Class rank: 11/380 ~ top 3%
ACT: 31
Note: I graduated high school in three years. I took 4 APs, got 4s and 5s. Also took classes at the community college nearby during the summer of my sophomore and junior year so that I could accelerate and graduate early. </p>

<p>Current College: Pennoni Honors College at Drexel University
College GPA: 3.7
Current Major: Bioethics/Pre-med track
Major Applying for: Philosophy and Science </p>

<p>Extracurriculars: Black Belt in Tae Kwon Doe, Upper Yellow Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, 2nd Chair French Horn in Wind Ensemble, writer for the Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network Teen Advisory Group </p>

<p>Leadership: Drexel's American Medical Student Association, LGBT Chair, Executive Board member </p>

<p>Research: Drexel College of Medicine, Microbiology/Immunology Department, two years </p>

<p>Science Fairs: 1st place at regional for three years, GlaxoSmithKline 3rd place, Pfizer Cum Laude, Tri-State wide 3rd place category (stand-ins for ISEF) </p>

College GPA: Don’t have one yet,but I think it will be somewhere around 3.7
Majors: International Relations and Journalism</p>

<p>Extra Curriculars (high school): Student Leadership Team, National Honors society, Senior Beta Club, Student Council, Cross Country, Blue Crew, Oboe, weekly volunteer to tutor refugees, volleyball</p>

<p>College: Model UN, Intervarsity Christian Fellowship</p>

<p>Awards: Scholar Athlete, Academic achievement, spirit award (volleyball), AP scholar with honor </p>

<p>Also, over 300+ volunteer hours in high school, and 800+ hours this summer of volunteering
Work experience: worked at a park for 2 years, now i teach English to immigrants into the united states for work study</p>

<p>Question: Do I have a chance of getting in? Should I retake the SATs/ACT?</p>

<p>Shannonwj16 - I’d say we’re similar in stats. I wouldn’t retake the SAT/ACT b/c they do fall into the lower level of Tufts admissions. Plus, you’ve done ECs that show commitment to your intended field of study. Chance me please :)</p>

<p>Question for you guys, if you don’t mind: why are you transferring? How have you liked BU and Drexel? Both are or have been on our lists! Thanks.</p>

<p>@Whackadoodle: Drexel is very career focused, everything is about preparing for the workplace. I want a school that entertains “learning for learning’s sake”. So for me, my main reason for wanting to transfer would be academic focus.</p>

<p>Allisone92 - you have as good a shot as any. Transfer admissions sometimes seem random. But that ACT score will hurt you…</p>

HS: super obnoxious competitive NY private with no gpa/ranking, but probably top 10/15% and GPA somewhere around 3.7/3.8ish?

Varsity athlete (my team now is ranked over 10 spots above Tufts so I’d hopefully be playing a lot)
Recs: My advisor who is an endowed chair of the bio department and loves me, my psych (prospective major) teacher this past semester who is the head of the psych department. hopefully they’ll say nice things!</p>

<p>College (large state): 3.95, 76 Credits</p>

<p>HS GPA: 4.25 weighted, don’t remember what unweighted was but I do have an F on my transcript :confused:
SAT: 2050</p>

<p>pretty lackluster extracurriculars</p>

<p>I know my chances are looking pretty dismal but even if I do get rejected, at least I won’t be asking myself “What if?”

<p>Just out of curiosity, does anyone have an idea of when we will receive notification? I read somewhere that it could be as late as sometime in June…I really hope that’s not the case.</p>

<p>I have applied as a transfer into the International Affairs program with a spanish minor. I am from Western mass and have been at a community college for two years transfering in (maybe) with 60ish credits and a 3.5 gpa. I have been out of hugh school for a few years so no SATs, 25 years old. Wrote an essay about backpacking around the world for a few years afer high school and meeting a Vietnamese ex amry officer and how his life had been influenced and changed by others and how his life contrasted my old high school teacher who had been shot in Vietnam. </p>

<p>I have strong community work like teaching English/skiing in Argentina, working in an orphanage in Cambodia, teaching skiing to underprivlidged kids on Vermont and working with red cross ect.</p>

<p>Just went on the TAMS website and it said my decision was available…I got rejected. However, my friend who also applied doesn’t have a decision up yet. This could be just for the engineering applicants</p>

<p>Just looked at my TAMS account I was rejected. =/ I was afraid this was going to happen…The transfer acceptance rate is much lower than the freshmen accceptance rate.</p>

<p>guys - did your rejection letters say anything about the rate or the applicants / if you could copy and paste it I’d super appreciate it.</p>
