Official FALL 2012 Cornell Transfers

ACCEPTED into CALS AEM!!!

@qawsed, I think she meant only me, but she could be generalizing?

And, congrats aspx!

@aspx32 Congrats!! Did you get an email?

@aspx32 Congrats!!! I also applied to AEM and could log into housing. How did you hear?

Thanks everyone!

I heard by mail, but I can’t tell you what it look like because my parents opened it for me, I’m at school.

does anyone know if sha sent out decisions yet?

also will they contact only through mail or will they contact through email as well?

on the website they said they will communicate acceptance through letter on a rolling basis. what does this mean? will that mean i have to wait for a letter to come in my mail?

and has anyone received any letter from sha?

Hey yall! I know I’m late, but I’ve been reading your posts for a while and I finally decided to be a part of this. So I’ve applied to CALS for Communications. And Cornell is the only one… so my nerves are killing me!

@aspx32 Congrats! So they sent it to your permanent address rather than your mailing address?

@Dogchow Good idea! I think I’ll call HumEc and ask the same thing

Congrats aspx32!!! That’s awesome.

Seems like everyone who can log into housing has been accepted so far.

Hey Epiphany! So i guess the common questions to ask new people on the thread:

 1. Where are you right now?
 2. Can you log into housing?
 3. What are your stats?

@epiphany93 have you been able to log into housing? I am a CALS applicant as well

epiphany, I’ve also applied for CALS Communication! I think we’re the only ones, at least on this thread :)

The only problem with the housing debacle is that the sample size that we are taking from CC is so infinitesimally small that it’d be nearly I possible to gauge whether being able to log in pre decision is any indication of being accepted or the converse. Having said that, clearly the people who have been posting on CC are all outstanding and accomplished students in his or her own regard so it have been easier for admissions to just check off and accept those students that can log on early on in the process; while others may take more deliberating and time before a decision is made and are not ones who can just walk right through the doors solely based on gpas and scores. Regardless of what happens the speculating will get to us eventually… We all must take a step back and appreciate that we’re even in the position to be applying to an institution like Cornell. So regardless of what happens, I have no doubt that the students on here are on here because they genuinely do care about education and their lives. We’ll all be successful no matter what; whether or not we have degrees from Cornell after its all said and done.

Hey guys! I’m at work right now, so I’ll just do a quick thing…

I go to a NYC private university, I’m currently a freshman, and I’m in the Honors program. As far as my application goes, I gave it the day before the deadline (which is dumb, but I wanted to make sure it was done well.) All my materials were recieved by mid March.

I can’t login to housing.

Stats:

GPA: 3.93
Awards and such: A few scholarships from college/high school, Dean’s list
Extracurriculars: Honor society, writer for the Honors newsletter/journal, Student government, Honors Council, and a lot of little things here and there.
Recs: Honors advisor, English professor
SAT/ACT: 2080 and 33

Not sure if I’m forgetting anything…

@jadey24: Awesome! To you have an idea yet of what you’d like to do with a communications degree?

Yea there’s no reason to get someones hopes up by saying they are automatically in if they can log into housing. This has not been confirmed nor has been observed in a majoirty of candidates situations. If your’e in, they will tell you. If you aren’t, they will tell you. Simple as that.

@miami4rmjax

Yes it was sent to my home address, I believe this is what I put on the common app :)

I have a theory! Pretty sure that CALS is notifying applicants alphabetically based on major. I applied to Ag Sci and heard back first, an Animal Science applicant found out a few days ago, and most recently an AEM person heard back. I could be wrong, but that totally seems to be the trend.

@dog chow, i just called ILR and asked about transfer decisions, and the lady told me that decisions havent been made and wouldn’t be released for 2 weeks…hmm.

I didn’t give her my name though, i just asked her about when transfers would be hearing back. I hope this isn’t bad news for me.

Can any CAS transfers log into housing?

@fitzgore, I believe that only one CAS applicant, Something, has been able to log into housing so far
