Official FALL 2012 Cornell Transfers

Yep, that’s me: Econ/Classics applicant.

I’ve applied to UPenn, Harvard and Cornell. Cornell is obviously my last choice. I applied to CAS Asian Studies.
I currently go to McGill (I’m Canadian), my CGPA is 3.98 (I’m a sophomore now; entering as junior), had 2230 in SATs, and did many ECs. Although my high school grades aren’t the best… 3.65/4.0

Oh, is that so obvious? That probably works out for you because it is quite a bit easier to transfer to Penn than Cornell CAS.

I am CALS applicant, and still waiting for the decision.

Is it really coming?

:(

No it isn’t. The admissions people are liars :frowning:
But honestly just believe in yourself and you’ll be fine :)

If believing in myself factored into the process, i’d be on a full ride to Cornell right now :P

I am new to this thread, but I’ve been following it for a few weeks. Good to know I’m not the only one having a hard time waiting!

Sorry, I’m new to the thread, and it’s pretty hard to sift through all of the information on here to figure out what has happened for everyone already.

Has anyone heard back about AEM? I know online it says decisions start coming out in mid-April, so it has to be soon right?

My stats:
Transferring from a public university in the south.
4.0 GPA - 45 hours (1.5 years) done so far.
SAT - Not great: 660 - CR 670 - Math
HS GPA was something like a 4.1-4.2 until my senior year when I stopped showing up for class haha.
My EC’s are pretty much limited to working an exorbitant amount of hours after I graduated high school, and took a year off from school. But, I was able to write a pretty good essay about that experience.
Seriously doubt I have a chance, but still am stressing to find out as soon as possible.

Accepted to aem via mail

hi, all! congrats to those who got accepted! I am still waiting for my response… waiting almost kill me~:-( i could not log into the housing section. It shows “error log in”. Does that indicate something (no chance to get in?) ? My apps were sent to review at the beginning of April, really late but before the deadline though~ does anyone know how long I have to wait for any response? thanks a lot~ ohh~waiting and waiting and waiting~

@19910217 What are you applying for? Seems as though the timing of your decision sort of depends on what school it’s coming from.

Also, random question for anyone who has insight… I’m applying to a few different school as a transfer applicant and got an email today from one university’s “Transfer Coordinator” just asking me about course details and so on. Anyone know the difference between a Transfer Coordinator and an Admissions Officer? Just trying to figure out whether they are thinking of accepting me and trying to work out the details about where I’ll stand academically or whether it means nada.

ACCEPTED!!! CAS! Got my letter today!!!
Good luck everyone!!!

@something12345 and @tony3boy…Congrats!!! Now,looks like this housing thingy is making sense after all!!! Good luck everyone!

@alyssa921714 I am applying for Human Ecology. whoa~I do think they are considering u and u have high possibility~You will be fine if u finish all the requirements before transfering.
PS, here is a link that I found about the job description of transfer coordinator from University of Illinois, hope it helps~:-) <a href=“Career Seekers | University of Illinois Springfield”>Career Seekers | University of Illinois Springfield;
btw, which school of Cornell are u applying for?

Hey guys so I spoke to a CHE admissions person today and they requested more information from me. It worried me at first, but now I am able to see the good and bad in this situation. The good is that they are not quite ready to reject me yet and want to know more about me. The bad is that they are definitely not ready to admit me either. Anyone else dealing with the same situation?

@something, congrats!!!

@ tony3boy

CONGRATS! see you there!!

@miami4rmjax, hi, is that a phone call interview?

@19910217 It wasn’t exactly a phone interview (CHE technically doesn’t do interviews) but he asked me some questions about myself then told me to fax him some more information about one particular extracurricular activity of mine (it is a very human development related activity). I’m not quite sure what this means. I guess I didn’t convey myself well enough in my essays :confused: On the bright side, the man I spoke with was unbelievably kind!

Congrats @Something!!! thats incredible!! Hope to you join you there!
