Official FALL 2012 Cornell Transfers

@haeji
Sounds like an acceptance here!
good luck and hope you get in

@jasmine6…Please do as majoreco advised. I’ve applied for financial aid but I’m now sitting on pins and needles as I await my aid decision…I hear they award aid to only 1~2 accepted international transfers :frowning: Keeping hands crossed and looking up to God because for me,No aid means No Cornell :(

Ian, I want you to wake me up early tomorrow morning. I want your sweet voice to brighten my day. Be my angel of the morning, Ian.

YES! I’ve quickly grown to love the 'ol “private number” caller i.d.

thanks guys!! im still in shock! im tryna plan a visit to cornell before I commit, though. It would be nice to see everyone on here get in. Congrats and good luck everyone!!

As for financial aid, i think youre still fine. Schools like cornell with such great FA programs are normally lenient, especially since they barely started to admit transfers. The only concern for you isnt so much that you applied late but that youre an international student. Idk how good Cornell is with aid for internationals but all you can do is call and ask. You should be proud that you got accepted dont let it damper your mood!

Lol @Gregfields, I’ve been thinking the same thing.

Its really interesting how this thread alone is a contributing reason of why i want to go to Cornell. I’m also part of the Northwestern U transfer thread and nobody posts anything, nobody seems to have any concerns/cares. Everybody here seems to sincerely care about the school and their future, which is a huge reason for me wanting to transfer. so basically, thank you guys for this thread!

@Chris1992 You are right!. I take cornell as a springboard to my future career, and I care my future so much… so I am too nervous now!..

Congrats! I am just curious if you could log into housing before you received your letter.

@everyone, here’s how you can justify spending the 60k/year on an ivy education. The ROI for all the Ivy’s is much higher than the average in-state school (yes, there are some exception, but in general it holds true.)

I feel the same way Chris1992! The University of Maryland thread only has 3 pages! how sad is that, its a HUGE school! I love this thread and reading all the posts here has definitely made me want to go to Cornell even more.

Congrats to everyone accepted :)

Quick question- for those accepted to CALS, mainly those who applied for Bio Sci, when did you submit your app/supp?

Thanks in advance!

That’s an awesome point guys. Sure it’ll be amazing to be somewhere as academically rich as Cornell, but I can’t wait to be surrounded by people who actually care. (At my school half the kids commute, no one goes out of their way, you get the point.) So getting to have the opposite is really exciting!

Accepted via email today CALS.

Congrats poirot! If u dont mind me asking at what time did you get the email and major did you apply for?

Sorry I meant *what major did you apply for? Im posting through my phone

Congratulations to everyone who got in! You all deserve it! I really want to be at Cornell with you all come fall because you seem like such a lovely, intelligent, and supportive group of individuals! Apparently my application is being reviewed right now (they requested some extra materials from me, which is why it’s taking so long I suppose) so hopefully I should hear back soon! Whether I am accepted, rejected, or wait listed, I am really hoping to have that envelope in my hands next week! The anticipation is killing me softly!

email received around 1:30. environmental science. good luck to everyone.

I got accepted!
