Official FALL 2012 Cornell Transfers

yes exactly thats the one

So I know that not being able to log in to housing doesn’t necessarily mean that you didn’t get in, but what other reason could there be for me not being able to log into housing? Does anybody know people that were accepted to CAS that were not able to log into housing prior to their acceptance?

@timb0slice, congrats! I do have a question. I am applying to Biology and Society at Cals, and was wondering which Biology major you were accepted into? It makes me happy that they are still accepting people though! :)

@miami4rmjax, you should definitely send the new grade in! It looks really good that you were able to raise your grade from a C to an A :slight_smile: good job on that as well!

@dreaming42012. Thank you! I was accepted into the Biological Sciences major and i listed biological engineering as an alternative major. Or are you asking what my concentration will be?

@Dreaming Thank you! I e-mailed Paul to tell him, but he never responded so I might call Monday to confirm.

@Haeji another thing about BU vs CU is Binghamton vs Ithaca. If you’re looking for a culturally-rich area with a lot to offer in terms of food and activity, I wouldn’t say Bingo is the place. However, that’s just my experience. I’ve been here fore 3 years and I don’t want to be here anymore. I’m sure it’s a little different, depending on what you’re involved in. Just one more thing to consider, if you haven’t already. =) Again, congrats to those who’ve been accepted, and best wishes to those who are still waiting!

This whole time I thought you guys meant Boston University when you talked about BU, not SUNY Binghamton. It makes a lot more sense now haha. I was like “is BostonU really that bad?”

@transfer888
I applied to 8 other schools, I think my top would be Penn but obviously I’m still overjoyed about getting into Cornell :)

@ lilydrenn
thanks! hehe. hold on…wait now im confused…hmm
@Vitakka,
we are talking about Boston U at least i thinkk so???

and yeah idk…i really didn’t like BU at first. but obviously i’ve settled down by now and made friends so im okay with it here xP but i think it’s safe to assume that i’ll definitely be leaving!

and i just found out i got into vandy as well! but i didn’t realize vandy was such a homogenous school… the lack of diversity there really doesn’t seem appealing–that’s another negative factor to BU!–oh, and the acceptance packet was so lame. hahah

ah I also applied to penn. I’m pretty sure I’m leaning towards cornell at this point since I found the engineering program more flexible towards my concentration (I’m transferring for the reason that the school i’m currently at does not allow me to have enough control of my major). But I visited penn and it is definitely tempting to put them both at a tie. If I get into ANY of these schools I will be really happy! I don’t think the penn thread is as useful as this one though…definitely more points for cornell there!

Has anyone been accepted to engineering yet? Anyone rejected from engineering? Please let me know

@jasmine I talked to the engineering transfer coordinator on wednesday and she said it is very rare any engineering applicants hear back before May 1st (I asked about extending the deadline at another school to see how far back I need to push it) and we probably won’t hear back until at the earliest mid-may. but most likely I think it’ll probably be like the week of may 21st. it’s a really long wait hahaha

Engineers might have to wait until the week of may 21st?! I would die!

yeah…the wait stinks…i was definitely hoping the results would come out within April. Ah well, at least we can focus on other things; for instance I’m not sure if its the same deal with you guys but the weather is awesome where I am!

yeah based on what she said I’m thinking the week of the 21st is when the majority will come out but some may come out the week or two before

Woops!! Wrong BU ; )

Got my Financial Aid…Cornell is paying the whole thing…wooooooohoooooo!!!

@IRONYSTILLDREAMS awesome!!! congrats ! !!

Has anyone applied for AAP heard about any news?

@Ironystilldreams: hello irony, first, congrats on your acceptance and your finAid package, that is awesome!! are you an american citizen or an international student?

@AdaKing: not yet… accordingly to the admission office, AAP is only going to release decisions beginning in the first week of May… =/
