HELP NEEDED!!!
I just received my application activation code. After creating my account, I saw all the paper material (transcript, college official report, recommendation etc.) are not checked off the list although they have been mailed two weeks ago.
I just realized that I mailed my forms to the WRONG address. I mailed them to Cornell University:
Office of Undergraduate Admission
410 Thurston Avenue
Ithaca, NY 14850

rather than to a specific mail box they indicated on their website!!! which is,
Undergraduate Admissions Office
Cornell University
P.O. Box 516
Ithaca, NY 14851-0516

Will they be able to figure it out or do I have to email them??

Thanks a lot!!!

Hey I saw the all my files are checked off except for Mid year report. I saw trying login again to app status page and It is not working. Am I the only one it is not working?

website not working for me either…I definitely mailed my materials to two different addresses, maybe 3 with rec’s going directly to HumEc, wonder how that will affect things…

Website isn’t working for me either. Will they review my app without my mid-year report? I think I won’t be able to get it in for like a week or two. Is that too late?

I think all materials were supposed to go to the transfer admissions office, so you guys may want to email them and figure it all out.

Also, I think my app went to review because my mid term report was received. The processing rep I spoke to said that all apps will be sent to review by mid march even if there is no mid term report, as long as all other materials are there.

page is back up…can’t find anything to do other than them having no record of my application fee waiver. The “check application status” tab will show if there’s anything missing correct? No checklist showing what they have or have not received wondering what the page should be showing me

Hey SMRSMR. When did you send your mid year report? I sent last Tuesday and still haven’t received.
Is there anyway who’s application is complete other tha SMRSMR?

quick question, did u guys send in ur AP scores?
and i been reading the last year’s college confidential and it seems like we hear back early April!

@Yolocholo, you may want to contact them ASAP concerning the fee waiver/payment. If the check application status page has no checklist at all anymore, then there should be a note at the bottom saying that all your materials have been received and its been sent to review. Once everything is received, the checklist goes away.

@Jk1018 I sent in my mid year report on Feb 28th; however it was priority mail, so they probably got it in 1-3 days.

@Kane402, I sent in my AP score report for English Lit, I used it to fulfill a requirement. I just emailed them a scan of the report. And yeah the first few decisions come out as early as late march/ early april. Excited.

SMRSMR: I also sent it by priority mail on Feb 26th. Did you send it by yourself or did the college send it for you?

@Jk1018, I mailed the midterm report out myself after the professors signed off on it. Again, don’t worry too much. Maybe I just got lucky and had mine picked up first and sent for review. Your app will be sent for review even if the midterm report isn’t there by mid march; if they need your midterm report, they will contact you. This is what happened to a friend of mine who applied to Cornell last year; he was contacted by CU and they requested the midterm report (this was mid-late april!).

@SMRSMR

My status says the same thing! SO EXCITING! Good luck, hoping for the best!

it seems like there are a good number of AEM transfers. Is it harder for AEM transfer to get in?

Hey Kane402. I’m also AEM applicant, I saw your stats in the past and it looked good!! Did you take all the requirements and recommended courses?

I’ve sent in my instructor evals and college reports on the 25th. Should I be concerned if the site says they haven’t received them yet? thanks

@Ftypeman, I am very anxious right now, and nitpicking every little minute flaw in my app; the next month or so will be hell for me.

@Kane402, AEM is regarded as the most competitive major in CALS, so yeah admissions is very tough.

@Spacecommander, I don’t think you should be too worried, it takes around 2-3 weeks for the materials to show up. If they still don’t show up this week, contact them just to make sure.

@SMRSMR

Thanks! Does anybody know the average gpa/sat score of successful CAS transfers?

I think it depends, but general wisdom is that 3.5 minimum for a decent shot at CAS, with an average likely around 3.8. SATs are probably similar to incoming freshman, though they do matter less.

I would think the averages are close to freshman admissions for GPA…for SAT I am unsure.

@SMRSMR Any ballpark estimate you could put on that for CALS (Specifically AEM). I see above where you said admissions is tough, just curious as to how tough. I’m assuming there has to be a much lower acceptance rate for AEM specifically than CALS as whole of course.
