Mine has been complete since last week, except for my mid-term report which I sent out this Monday.

Will my midterm grades of 3.8 ruin my 4.0 GPA? :[

Guys,

Is that Ok not to send the SAT scores if you have taken them just recently?

I just don’t want to spend money to forward pretty average SAT scores.

@tblanc, if you look at post #29 in this thread, the person claims 12-15% chance for AEM in CALS. Don’t know how accurate that is though. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/cornell-university/1245919-official-fall-2012-cornell-transfers-2.html

@hopeforthebest94, 3.8 will be fine, relax.

@Fogueira, if you applied to CALS, SATs are not necessary, and if they are average they probably won’t help.

@Fogueira SATs aren’t necessary for most colleges within Cornell, though I’d call the college to which you’re applying to make sure.

Thank you!

It’s actually not required, according to most Cornell sources - I just read this sentence and got a little bit concerned, but I guess it’s indeed not necessary.

Standardized test scores (SAT I or ACT) should be sent if taken previously. Test scores must be sent directly from the testing agency.

@Fogueira I got an 1800 on the SAT I, and unfortunately, since I’ve previously applied to Cornell (for A&S, not ILR), they still have everything on record. I don’t think there’s a way to dismiss those scores either :/

Checklist gone and materials have been received and sent for review!!! WOOOOOO! (ILR)

@Ravidrim, that’s rough. I have the same issue, but luckily my SAT falls within the average. This makes me think if they have our previous essays/apps as well.

@SMRSMR They probably do. My essays last year were strong, but not nearly as good as the essays I’ve written for my transfer app this year. Hopefully, they can appreciate my college performance more haha.

Haha my previous essays probably sucked. Oh man I really hope they don’t read those. But who knows what the adcomms do. Just gimme a chance!

Excited that some of you got all your stuff checked off!

I sent in my high school transcript and college transcript both around mid jan and early feb. However None of that is showing up on my checklist except my common app and trans. supplement. Should I be worried and call in? Or just keep waiting, ready to resubmit… :(

I scored 4 in AP US HISTORY AND AP CHEMISTRY…Should I send these scores or not?
I am not sure if they will help b/c they’re not 5…

^ I didn’t send any APs, I self-reported. I was told by an admissions person at another school that most people just submit the official AP score once they’re accepted. Otherwise, it doesn’t really make a difference whether you self-report or not.

I have everything checked off online except for my midterm report! Just finished getting it all filled out today so I will send it off in the next couple days.

@Stashjuice, when did you submit your actual commonapp? If that was recent, then the system still may be processing. If it still doesn’t show up in a week or so, contact them.

@collegedyp, I agree with nyjetsknicks, you don’t have to send them in really. UNLESS you intend to fulfill a CALS required course with the AP scores, in which case let them know asap. Otherwise I wouldn’t bother.

Hey Listen up if this has happened to you: You sent your High school transcripts way before your common app?

If so this happened to me and the way I resolved it was by calling. Once you are talking explain the situation and ask to speak with processing. The worker at processing settled everything out. Apparently it was in a random folder separated from mine. I hope that helps!

@SMRSMR, I applied to ILR but the thing is I haven’t take American History class in college (which is one of prerequisites) while I took SAT II US HISTORY AND AP US History. I sent the SAT score via collegeboard. In this case, should I send the AP US History score?
Do you think it would make my application look a little better? I am just really frustrated b/c I haven’t fulfilled two of the pre-requisites although the admission office told me it’s not necessary to take all of them to be admitted…

My apps has now gone on the review!! So nervous, good luck everyone who’s status has changed to review mode.

@collegedyp, ILR does not have a prereq for American history class, they just encourage it to you. The only Prereqs for ILR is like college algebra, micro/macro econ, and english. And its not even a requirement to have prereqs its just strongly recommended. I got a letter along time ago (before I applied) from Ian Schachner and it even said “Courses recommended are selections in history, english, econ, law, etc.” So its not a big deal, dont worry about what classes you took as long as you didnt take all art and ceramics classes your fine.

And Im just starting this thread, my name is nick and im applying as a sophmore transfer into ILR. Here are my stats:

College: University of Minnesota Twin Cities.
Major: econ (But ILR for cornell)
HS GPA: 3.0, College GPA: 3.7
Units completed: 32
I have alot of volunteer hours (over 200) at red cross and etc. Im on reserves as a Navy rescue swimmer, I have alot of management work experience and in leadership. Whether it was me being a top lifeguard and being in charge of my whole division, or even in my band class i was a student leader, etc. I have some incredible recs from 2 of my professors and one from the Navy. I am an honor student at my current college (Phi beta kappa) and I have taken rigorous courses that pertain to ILR. I have alot of ECS, solid essay about how hard i had it in H.S and I explained why i did so poorly in H.S.

Let me know, Im hoping I have somewhat a chance at ILR, its a dream school for me and I really dont want to be in Minnesota anymore lol.

Oh and yeah i had mine sent to review two days ago (3/5) as well. So im excited for that too!

@jk1018
About the requirements, so i thought i had all of them done because of the credits I received at my current college, but I contacted them and they said that i basically don’t have all of them fulfilled. So this is going to definitely hurt my chances…
I’m just wondering, do you guys have all your requirements done?
