ACCEPTED FOR SPRING!! Im in a state of shock right now. Congrats to the other acceptances!

Everyone, this is a game of chance. I’d bet that less applications are accepted on a rainy day than a sunny one. I was waitlisted at Wesleyan despite a 4.0 and strong letters, extra-curriculars but found out I was accepted into Brown today. Pretty wild.

waitlisted as well

okay. rejeccted again. after all my commitment and obsession with it for half of my life. Even with decent stats(2300+, 4.075), great professors’ help (econ chair and one of the most prestigious gov tenure) and zealous commitment from one of the two schools most similar to it. They still think I am unworthy and I suck. fine.
I really don’t know why they have to treat me like this. but I know that I am crazy enough to be going to have a sucking summer and try again next year anyway, just to be finally declared unworthy and incompetent for the third time, I suppose? ok This is life.

accepted dudes who applied for financial aid: do you have anything posted under messages, awards and the other financial aid menus?

for those accepted or waitlisted, do you guys apply for financial aid?

@qwertychester I applied for financial aid and I was waitlisted

Rejected. Oh well, I do have a really low EFC.

Good luck to the rest of you guys!

Rejected. No surprise

I applied for financial aid and I got accepted, but my EFC was way higher than I anticipated. Ouch.

I didn’t apply for financial aid, and was accepted.

Accepted :)

I was waitlisted and applied for FA.

Waitlisted, although I did apply for financial aid.

Accepted.
GPA: 4.0
SAT’s: 2010
Situation: Film major at NYU, applied with Literary Arts as intended concentration.

Rejected. Not too surprised, though. I needed a full-ride. Looks like its Penn, Stanford or Cornell! Congrats, everyone!

Removed my comment; it was an incorrect assumption. Thanks PaintTheSilence and Catullus for correcting me.

@IliketoFence, I’m afraid you are mistaken. For transfer students, Brown is need-aware. This means that they do indeed take into account a student’s financial situation before extending (or failing to) an offer of admission. In fact, there is even a results thread on this board that attempts to determine just how much of an effect applying for FA has on the decision by comparing stats and other base criteria with financial need with pretty consistent and obvious outcomes.

@IliketoFence Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe Brown is need-aware for transfer applicants meaning they take financial aid into consideration during the application process.

To all accepted students in the Spring: I was accepted for the Fall of 2014, but would prefer to enroll in the spring of 2015 because I plan on studying abroad in the Fall. If you were admitted in the spring and would prefer to enroll in the Fall please let admissions know this because then we could switch places and both get our preferences!
