Just got my Transfer Application ID Number.

I got mine today too! And now, we wait…

Unlike this year’s transfer thread, the past Columbia transfer threads were pretty active…I guessed not so many people applied this year.

I was so surprised to see the transfer deadline has been extended to March 8! I did the application in 2 hours on March 1! I know that was my fault, but I am just feeling so… I don’t know, so undeserved?!
If they are going to extend the deadline, they should tell us beforehand, at least two days ahead! Now everything is submitted, and I cannot edit anything even though I should have 4 more days!
I wanted to argue with the admission office, but realized it’s not a wise decision.

What do you guys suggest?

What do you mean what do we suggest? Your application is submitted, there’s nothing you can do now but wait. To be honest, you should have been working on the Columbia app way ahead of time instead of waiting til the last minute. And I have a feeling that even if they did notify you of the deadline extension, you would’ve still put it off til the night of the 8th to do it.

TheEarlyBird, Wow no need to be so self-righteous. Just because you finish everything in advance doesn’t mean everyone does. Regardless, LittleE that’s just a tough break. The fact they made the deadline a little longer is just unlucky. Unfortunately, you can’t really do anything at this point but hope for the best.

I’m not being self-righteous. I just meant that it would have been typical of anyone, not LitleE specifically, to put it off a little longer when an extension was known, and I would have been the same way. And i never said I finished everything in advance. I said that they should have been working on it (i.e. Brainstorming, drafting, etc) beforehand because they made it sound like the application was just something that was thrown together in “2 hours on March 1”. I just didn’t appreciate the fact that they spent only 2 hours on it the day of and then wanted to call the admissions office and argue with them about the deadline after the fact.

Applying to CC, political science, from a public ivy. What’s the size of transfer applicant pool?

Did you guys check the Track Your Application page? It says that almost all my documents are missing, but I sent them a couple weeks ago.

Some of my things say not yet received/processed too. And I sent them in in the beginning of January so I know they’re there. Admissions at Columbia is probably just really busy finalizing freshmen admission decisions now. After that, then they’ll be able to focus more on the transfer admissions.

Sorry for causing some arguments above. I know it’s a bad habit to leave everything to the last minute, but that’s just my way of doing things. I actually kept thinking about how to write those supplements everyday, but I just don’t have to push to write them down…weird me!

Anyway, I have a weird feeling toward Columbia as well. I applied and got rejected in HS, so I felt I have to reapply as a transfer, even though I am not that into it any more. It is the last school I wrote, and everything was in hurry. I don’t hold much hope, and I am ready for bad results : P

BTW, I checked my status. Everything is received other than mid-term report, and they are using my old HS transcripts.

Most of the materials are now marked as received, but my HS transcript and transcript from Yale summer school are still marked as not received. Is it the same with you guys?

Mine was like that too for a community college transcript I had sent. But then it was processed and updated my file on Friday.

Thank you…

Do they only post the documents that they received? Or all the documents that they need from you? Everything is indicated as received but…
I send in my midterm grades and registrars report but there is not indication on the web cite that they received it, but it also doesn’t say that it is missing. So I am a bit confused.

They post the documents that they want to post. They do not post all the documents that they need from you since they don’t track midterm report and registrars report.

Wow this thread is really dead… thought I would add this for future applicants. Also just to see who is applying where!

Please add yourself, and sorry if I made any mistakes- feel free to change anything
