Official Fall 2014 Columbia Transfer Thread

i made an account but mine doesn’t say may 13! it just says “mid may”

Same question with @schief, did they send out any email lately about decision-viewing?

@banana827‌ Mine used to say may 13 but it changed to ‘Mid May’ too. @schief‌ I didnt get an email about decision viewing but I have an account from applying last year I dont remember how I made it though. Maybe everyone who got accounts has them from applying last year.

@banana827‌ My portal also says mid May. I didn’t apply last year but still have an account. All I did was create a login through the website posted by KingofSweden above.

I could not log in because it says that my e-mail does not exist in the system. I guess either something went terribly wrong with my application or they have not reviewed my application. Who else is experiencing this?

They don’t inform us on the status check page?

this link: https://undergraduate-admissions.studentaffairs.columbia.edu/decisions

Mine now says mid May as well.

@Schief On the link I provided, I went through the process of creating my login, and then I clicked to check my admissions decision. The page has a drop-down selection containing my decision as a first-year applicant and my transfer admissions status, which explains why my email is in their system.

@KingofSweden How did you create the login? Did you do it via the reset password page?

@Schief I just clicked “Create your login.” I then received an email that allowed me to set a password. I used my email and password for the “View your admissions decision.”

@KingofSweden Thank you for letting me know. It just says that my e-mail does exist in the system…

Did any of you got an email from Columbia about tracking your application? It says that decisions will be available online on the 13th after 5:00 pm

Yep. You think they’re trying to subtly tell us not to expect any Fedex packages? I bet they only exclusively email rejections. The acceptances will get both.

@PaintTheSilence‌ ahh :-S you think so?

I really bet they sent that email to everyone, not just the rejects. It says “some” are exclusively electronic (ie rejections)

@ILikeCheeseNWine; Yeah, that’s what I said. Rejects will get only emails. Acceptances will get both. I’m sure everyone got the email today.

@PaintTheSilence‌ Oh okay, thank God. Because last year when I applied as first-year student I also got the same email and I got rejected, so when I saw “Thank you for…” (before I open the email), I was nervous and anxious haha

What’d you guys apply for? I did Sustainable Development - hopefully the obscure major will improve my chances.

I applied to econ!

I applied to English! But humanities today doesn’t seem as unpopular as some newspapers said.
