**Official Fall 2014 Dartmouth Transfer Thread**

@Jevano, don’t give up hope yet, you guys still have a chance. You never know what is going to happen with the numbers of the students currently planning to matriculate. Besides, there are still transfer students that will be admitted; no reason to worry until you receive your decision. Wish you all the best of luck :)

I know but we are looking at a 2% acceptance rate.

A similar issue has come up in the past, it seems. I wish that the newspaper article that everyone’s referring to had specified whether the projected transfer numbers were for this year’s group of transfer applicants, or for next year’s. While I don’t think that it would make sense for admissions to already be discussing plans for next year’s transfer admissions cycle, I still find it odd that the overbooking of the Class of 2018 would have such a marked effect on our likelihood of acceptance. While it’s true that space on campus could be a concern, transfers wouldn’t be rooming with freshmen, and probably wouldn’t be rushing to take intro classes either. Adjusting transfer number for the classes of 2016/2017 to accommodate those of 2018 would seem like an overproduction of Mercedes in Germany causing a price decrease on oranges in Florida.

Well, that’s just my two cents, I suppose. 30 isn’t a very promising number anyways haha.

It says when you log in to check your admissions status that the decision will be released at 300 pm eastern time on the 13th.

Some more interesting new regarding transfer students

Well, looks like it pays to be a veteran who is trying to transfer. The majority of that article was about attracting veterans

Did everyone get the email this morning saying that decisions will be released on May 13? The email started out by saying “Greetings from Hanover!” which cruelly sounded like an acceptance later :P

@KingofSweden I got it on May 7…

“Greetings from Hanover!”

But I dont think I will get in… We will see.

@MYOMOO Best of luck! Not expecting anything after a recent string of rejections/waitlists. And once I thought this process to be so legitimate…how naive I was.

@KingofSweden I bet you will be able to get in a prestigious school. Trust me!

Other schools have started releasing transfer decisions. Is there anyone who applied to Dartmouth that got accepted elsewhere?

I got accepted by Berkeley with full ride…

@MYOMOO‌ Congratulations! I guess you are still holding out for the Dartmouth decision?

@Jevano Yes. I got rejected by Cornell, Penn, Caltech, and MIT… I am still waiting for Dartmouth and Stanford. If I do not get in I will go to Berkeley

Anyway can see their update in Financial AId… I have no update so should be rejected.

@MYOMOO what do you mean?

so… all my stuff for financial aid has been updated, does that mean I got in? I can’t figure out exactly what you are saying… if that is what it means that would sure be nice.

Well I am guessing that if they updated your financial aid profile and all your information has been marked as “satisfied” you probably got in. For the rest of us our profiles have not been updated. Mine has been the same way from April 28.

Waitlisted- better than I was expecting!

rejected :(
